Hey there!

Have you seen the latest news from the Youth Zone, the online community for children and youth? Many interesting things are happening there and you can be part of all of them. Take a look:

Commemorating The International Day of Eradication of Poverty (17 October)

Today, as the world commemorates the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) under the theme “Coming Together With Those Furthest Behind To Build An Inclusive World Of Universal Respect For Human Rights And Dignity,” it is imperative to remember that, despite the significant progress that has been made in reducing extreme poverty, an estimated 1 billion children still live in poverty globally – that is 1 out of every 2 children in the whole world.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is a global awareness event marked every year on 17 October, as a day of reflection, advocacy, and action against poverty.

People around the world are organizing events and activities to join this global initiative, and you can also be part and raise your voice against child poverty. Visit the Youth Zone to learn more about the many ways you can actively advocate and contribute to building a better world for children, or to share with us what you have been doing in your community to commemorate this day:

GNRC Youth from India and Japan in Genfest 2018

On July 2018, youth from Myochikai, Japan, and Shanti Ashram, in India, traveled to Manila, Philippines, to take part of the 11th edition of Genfest, the international youth festival of the worldwide Focolare Movement, a meeting of youth who want to show the world that universal fraternity and a united world is an Ideal worth living for.

Focusing on the theme, "Beyond All Borders" Genfest created apes and opportunities for young people to experience crossing cultures and traditions, find best practices, tools, and projects that would help them achieve sustainable change and realize that we are all part of a common humanity. During these days, our friends from India and Japan shared the work they have been doing with Arigatou International and brought back inspiration. They have written their experiences so we can share them in the Youth Zone.

Ready to welcome new GNRC friends!

Until now the Youth Zone has been a closed group only for children who participated in the GNRC 5th Forum in Panama. During these months we have learned from one another, shared how we have been engaged locally in our GNRC groups to End Violence Against Children, and about the other Arigatou International Initiatives and their actions.

However, around the world, there are many more GNRC children who are active locally in their groups, bringing positive transformations to their communities.   We think that we are all ready to welcome all of them to be part of this online platform and we count on you to support us with this process!
A webinar from children to children:

To introduce the Youth Zone to new children and to explain to them how this interactive online group works, we are planning to organize a Webinar. A webinar is like an online meeting where people can come together, share, talk, and learn more about each other.

To organize this Webinar, we are counting on you! We think the members of the Youth Zone, like you, should be the ones moderating this webinar: introducing the platform to the new members, sharing about your experience in Panama, how you have been engaged locally since then, and support identifying tools and materials you may need to continue your projects and ideas locally. We can’t make it without you, this is your space!

Would you like to moderate this meeting or help to prepare it? Do you have suggestions of what to include for this Webinar? Join the discussion now

This and many more discussions, friends,
interactivity and news are waiting for
you in our Online Community
