DECODING THE WEATHER MACHINE FILM POSTPONED
NEW DATE: OCTOBER 18
DUE TO THE INTENSE RAIN WE ARE POSTPONING OUR FILM

Many roads in Floyd County are closed or flooded today. It's a great time to talk about our changing weather, but stay safe today and we'll get together next week to watch this really informative movie.

Decoding the Weather Machine.

“Disastrous hurricanes. Widespread droughts and wildfires. Withering heat. Extreme rainfall. It is hard not to conclude that something’s up with the weather, and many scientists agree. It’s the result of the weather machine itself—our climate—changing, becoming hotter and more erratic.”

This night will be a bit different than our regular film nights. Since this film is two hours, we will open the doors at The Floyd Country Store at 6 p.m. with brief announcements at 6:15 p.m. and the film starting no later than 6:30 p.m.

Please bring FINGER FOODS ONLY. This will not be our usual potluck dinner, but potluck snacking! Coffee and water will be provided, and a suggested $5 donation for the evening is accepted at the door.

After the film, there will be a panel discussion with David Wert of the Blacksburg National Weather Service and Linda Devito, our own local weather guru and member of the Board of Supervisors. So, stay around and join in the discussion.

We are very much looking forward to bringing you this film and we thank AECP for sponsoring this film.

Our next film will be Tapped on November 15th, and we will finish the year with Redefining Prosperity on December 13th.

(PLEASE NOTE: We have changed the order of films from our original announcement. Dates and location remain the same.)
