In an interview with Lovisa Westblom, project coordinator of the JPI Urban Europe funded project CIVIC, we discussed the importance of understanding all stakeholders’ visions and perspectives to increase sustainability in a project. This can be a tough task for many projects, however, CIVIC  gave it a go and has come up with the unconventional idea to launch a game! The game is a playful and informative way to aid understanding of the need and importance for collaboration between all involved stakeholders to accomplish successful results.

The 10 JPIs sign joint declaration about future ambitions and impact

In view of the ongoing negotiations for Horizon Europe and to celebrate 10 years of Joint Programming Initiatives, a conference was recently organized to shed light on the initiatives achievements and possible contributions to strengthen the European Reasearch Area (ERA). During the conference, it became obvious that the 10 JPIs are well in line with their aim to structure the ERA and that they have already implemented several of the requirements currently discussed for future missions in Horizon Europe.

The JPIs used the occasion to present a joint JPI Chairs declaration summarizing their views and ambitions for their future development and impact. The declaration Driving Research and Innovation to Address Global Challenges emphasizes the importance of the commitment by Member States as well as the support by the Framework Programme.
