Choral Anthem October 14, 2018

Stewart's Stewings

I know. I know. Perhaps it sounds like I am bragging. But in  Second Corinthians 10:17, it says "Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord." I like that. I also like to just give thanks. So maybe I'll do a bit of all of them this week in my Stewings.

If you missed worship Sunday morning, you missed one fo the choir's best anthems ever. If you were here 5 or even 3 years ago, you know that God is doing something amazing in our music program. I am grateful for David Neff's leadership, to our members who have been singing for decades and for our newest members who just joined a few weeks ago. Keep up the great work. We all sing better with your leadership, and surely God is smiling. Click the picture above to hear the anthem.

We also blessed 60 gorgeous and colorful quilts that our Christian Action group tied and sewed and loved together other the past year. They were delivered on Thursday to Lutheran Mission Society who will get them to those in great need this Fall and Winter. Thank you ladies and gentleman!

Our building is being used all the time. Seriously. Every day. There was an incredible Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble performance on Friday night in Hart Hall. At the last minute their venue fell through, and we were able to host them. The English Country dancing and Contra dance groups continue. The Cedarcroft School will host a neighborhood Fall Fair tomorrow for children and and Open House. Twelve Step groups use our library and the Cedarcroft Center continues great wellness work.

God is good, and abundant and showing off everywhere around us. God is showing off because you are using the gifts given to each one of you in your work, play, rest, service and love. Over 40 of you returned your financial pledge card for 2019. We are so grateful. If you haven't yet returned your card, please try to get it to us on Sunday. Your Vestry and Council meet to finish the draft budget this Monday night. Things look promising for 2019 as we completely merge our budgets together.  If you did not receive the Stewardship Newsletter last week in the mail, please read it here and return your 2019 Pledge Card this Sunday.

Pastor Don Burggraf has been an incredible gift to me and our congregation as well. Check out the stellar Forum on Faith lineup below, and try out his Thursday morning 11:00 am Bible Study!

God bless you this beautiful Fall weekend. Keep your eyes and ears and hearts open to God moving around and through you. What next? Give me a call sometime. I'd love to have coffee and catch up with you and hear about your spiritual journey.
