Happy International Day of Sign Languages

On Sunday, 23rd September we celebrate the first International Day of Sign Languages. Recognising the importance of preserving sign languages as part of linguistic and cultural diversity, laste last year, the United Nations General Assembly declared 23 September as International Day of Sign Languages.

Have you seen HearSpace?

We recently launched a brand new service: HearSpace. It’s a great new site for people who are hard of hearing and those close to them.

HearSpace is a place that connects people with services, resources and information to empower them to lead a better quality of life with hearing loss. From the closest place to get your hearing tested to communication tips for the workplace - HearSpace has you covered.

Hearing loss is a condition that affects over three million Australians or one in every six people. If your hearing isn’t what it used to be or someone close to you is having trouble with their hearing, we’re here to help.

To apply, projects needs to contribute to the positive growth of an individual or group and provide inspiration for other deaf people to achieve and show leadership.David applied for the grant with the goal of setting up photography workshops focused on landscape photography and hoping that his photography would inspire others.
