Important Notices

Special Olympics Night with the Columbus Blue Jackets

Saturday, Oct. 20th - against the Chicago Blackhawks.  There are multiple local Special Olympics organizations attending.  Tickets are $40 each and $5 from each ticket sold will come back to GSO.  Seats will be in the Sky Terrace area of the arena.  

Everyone who purchases a ticket will receive a CBJ gift and have the opportunity to be entered to win one of our fan experiences: Pre-Game Benchwarmers or Pre-Game High-Five Tunnel. After the game, all participants will be able to go down onto the ice and take a photo.

3rd Annual Halloween Hustle 5K to support Special Olympics

Please come out and support Gahanna Special Olympics with Phi Sigma Kappa's 3rd Annual Halloween Hustle 5K! This is a 5K walk/run put on by the Phi Sigma Kappa chapter at The Ohio State University. Check-in and Registration begin at 10:00 am, with the race beginning at 12:00 pm. The course includes a tour of the Ohio State campus: beginning at the RPAC (Recreation & Physical Activity Center) near Ohio Stadium, around the Coffey Fields, up the Olentangy River Trail, through west campus, and finally concluding at the Lincoln Tower Fields. And of course, it wouldn't be a Halloween 5K without a costume contest! Come out dressed in your best costume and participate in Phi Sigma Kappa's Costume Contest! Bowling
 
State Bowling competition is Saturday Oct. 20th.  We will be bowling at Sawmill lanes at 9am.  Coach Tiffany will let you know what time she needs you to be there, but it's typically at least 30 minutes before the start of the competition.  The following 28 athletes are going to State, based on bowling registration.  Please let me and Coach Tiffany know immediately if your athlete cannot attend.

Fundraising, Parent Mentor Program and Other Info


***  This meeting is in our very own Clark Hall ***  Cincinnati Children's Hospital bootcamp topic for the month of October is Assistive Technology.  They will have Kyle Corbin from the Ohio Department of DD speaking about AT in general – what is it, and how it can help a loved one with a disability. Come
learn what innovations are being tried around Ohio and working for families.  They will also have Heather Bridgman from OCALI talking about digital innovations – what are some Google tools or mobile apps that are easily accessible and can help our loved one be more independent?  They will also have some special guests at each workshop, bringing technology that works for them to demonstrate and talk with families about how they got it and how they use it.
