£1.6m investment in Redbridge Parks is underway

During October, the Leader of the Council - Cllr Jas Athwal unveiled impressive new and refurbished play equipment at Elmhurst Gardens and a new calisthenics gym at Clayhall Park, the first of our parks to benefit from the council’s commitment to upgrade facilities in the boroughs parks.

This is great news for Redbridge residents who can now take advantage of using another free gym at Clayhall Park, to improve their fitness and well-being whilst the children of South Woodford are taking pleasure from new improvements made to the play equipment at Elmhurst Gardens.

People’s Choice Award results

The competition was very tough with more than 65,000 votes cast to choose the nations favourite Park. Overall there were 1,800 sites to choose from – all of which met the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.

Redbridge just missed out on a place in the coveted Top Ten UK Parks but we are delighted that Valentines, the borough’s premier park, finished in 11th position, only one place away from the published Top Ten which is amazing and we would like to thank everyone that voted.
