Court battles are ramping up in St. Louis, Kansas City, California, Montana and Delaware as more than 8,700 people are suing Monsanto alleging that exposure to glyphosate-based herbicides led to cancer.

U.S. Right to Know is posting documents from the court cases on our Monsanto Papers page and tracking the latest developments. See reporting by Carey Gillam and Sam Levin in The Guardian:
'The world is against them': a new era of cancer lawsuits threaten Monsanto.

More Roundup news:
  • ABC in Australia aired a powerful 45-minute broadcast detailing the secret tactics Monsanto used to protect Roundup; you can view it here.
  • A toxicology journal has finally corrected the record to disclose that Monsanto scientists were involved in a supposedly “independent” review of the cancer causing potential of Roundup. The long-overdue disclosures followed an article by Carey Gillam and Nathan Donley about the journal’s failure to address the conflict
  • Congratulations to Carey for winning the Society of Environmental Journalists 2018 Rachel Carson Book Award and the Thorpe Menn Literary Excellence Award for her outstanding reporting!
Gates Foundation scandal at Cornell: With $12 million in funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Cornell Alliance for Science promotes inaccurate information about science as it lobbies to protect pesticides in Hawaii and push GMOs in Africa. We’ve compiled the evidence in our new fact sheet, please share: The Cornell Alliance for Science is a PR Campaign for the Agrichemical Industry

U.S. Right to Know investigates and reports on the third-party allies the food and agrichemical industries rely on for their public relations and lobbying, because the public has a right to know. Recent updates:
  • We’re suing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services seeking records about why the CDC and NIH foundations have not disclosed donor information as required by law. See the court docs and more litigation news here
