We have been having fun on the Saturday ride lately.   Lots of goofiness.    2-3 Hours of riding starting at 8 AM.   Please be ready to leave right at 8 so we can get back and open the shop by 11.
Always hills.  Always fun.  Always a good crowd of people.

Topanga Creek Outpost
FYI.      Follow us and check our Instagram page  for updates each week on rides.
Saturdays - 8 AM - Shop Ride

We ride for about 2 1/2  hours every Saturday from the Outpost.  Always Fun. Always Hills.  Always a good crowd.  While we are a patient group, this is not an easy bike path by the ocean ride.
Mountain biking is biking in the mountains, plan ahead with water and plan for hills,
dangers and not an easy ride.  It wouldn't be as fun if it was easy.
Show up early. We leave exactly at 8 AM to get back and open the shop.

Post Script:  We don't ride if there is a 30 percent chance of rain or if it is raining in the morning.  We don't want to hurt the trails and we don't want crappy drivers to hit anyone on Topanga loading or unloading their bike.

Stopping for a little poetry.  We like to stop for a few minutes and get culture during the ride.
Riding in Topanga on our Saturday ride.
After stopping for some poetry the mind keeps spinning along with the legs.
ADAM IS THE DUDE.   There is a super fun crowd lately on our rides.
Rogue Journeymen Open House is Oct. 27.    We will be showing off what we do, have some give-a-ways and games plus selling our prototypes.   Stop by for food, drinks and fun.
RACE TIME AGAIN

WE'RE BACK
Now that gravel racing is a big thing and everyone has forgotten about 8 / 24 Hour races, we are headed down to Temecula to race.  Time to get the band back together.   We will put together a handful of teams in various categories.    Join the fun.

Comments from Dave ......

So the last few months have been awesome here up in Topanga. Broke some bones and some hearts , lots of wheelies at stupid speeds , and meet some really rad people. Just recently I got to finally experience my first Interbike and it was hella rad. The outdoor demo was fun but wished I was able to spend more time on some bikes that I may never get to ride again (Mondraker comes to mind) . I did get to ride a Pinon Gear box bike that was cool but not really my cup of tea. The Two things that really stuck with me at the outdoor demo was the awesome lunch I got to eat with my TCO family and shredding some of the gnarliest trails (Northstar) with said people. The Expo was so much better than I thought it was going to be. Over the years Ive heard so many industry people talk interbike down and say its dead blah blah ..... yea there wrong. I met so many people with so much knowledge and got bombarded  with products, questions asked and answered, some good swag , and also good connections to products to help our shop and customer out even more than we do now. One of the things that I took back from Interbike that I'm realizing now as I type this is how much closer I have become with the rest of the shop from that trip. Massive thank you to everyone at the shop and all of the people that support us.     Now I'm gonna go do some more wheelies...............

Comments from Dave about Interbike.....
Comments from Chris....
By the time we send this email, Sears may have gone out of business.   In the 70s they were the premier retailer.     Sears invested in real estate, had a finance division and house brands but didn't keep up with the times and are in dire straights.     We won't let that happen to the Outpost.        We make bold decisions and accept (celebrate) change.

Easily 80-85 percent of our bike sales are by appointment and people plan their visit to us.    Rogue Journeymen is taking off and we need to adjust to the times.     We are spending Mondays and Tuesdays on RJ with the shop open for repairs and rentals or appointments.     Please plan your visit to us accordingly.
INTERBIKE
We were honored to receive the Innovation Award at Interbike this year and had a blast.    We rode bikes at the incredible Northstar resort, ate our way through Reno with local diners for breakfast and nighttime buffets.   We saw old friends, made some new ones and had a terrific time with each other.
Dave made it to the final 4 in the Mechanics Challenge.   SKS has a banana carrier.

Life is good.
The bike industry was super kind to give us one of 10 innovation awards to dealers in the USA.  We were honored.

We ran into Mr. Jay Barre at Interbike and caught up for a while.

Lots of random stuff in Topanga. Never the same.   - Dave's Art and the BBQ were a hightlight of August.
20 years ago when we opened the shop we wanted a business to allow us to pursue our creative endeavors so having Dave show off his artwork is right along with our mission statement and our raison d'etre

Turns out that very few people read this far in a dispatch, or at least don't mention they read to the end and learned the secret phone number below.

Rarely published actual phone number.
Nobody reads this far anyway,
we might as well give it out.

Perhaps it is time for a new sign.
