Our God is a God of Peace

Israel bore witness to Yahweh as God of peace (Judges 6:24). Those who live under His rule can count on peace and reconciliation. In Psalm 119:165 the psalm-singer says, "Those who love your law have great peace;  nothing makes them stumble.” Peace is the rule under His reign. Therefore, the Gospel is a Gospel of peace, and "blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God" (Mt 5:9).

Peace (as living God's love) is God's gift to the world and peacemakers bring it to the people. What could be better and more beautiful than that? Not least because of this PRN has received the most beautiful task that exists on this earth. We are happy to join this story of God with us humans and invite you to participate.

Network Developments

TEACHING

PRN is co-organizing the Micah Global Conference
From September 8th-12th, this year's Micah Global Conference on Peace and Reconciliation took place in Tagantay, Philippines. PRN participated in the conference in several crucial areas and held its own three-day seminar with Dr. Vladimir Ubeivolc, Moldova; Dr. Oksana Grytsiuta, Ukraine; Joseph Nyamutera, Rwanda and Dr. Johannes Reimer, Germany. The seminar was well received by the 450 participants of the conference from 86 different countries. Several country representatives expressed interest in starting peace work in their own context. Training Hub Zambia goes online

The Evangelical Alliance of Zambia and Micah Zambia have agreed with PRN to set up the Training Hub in spring 2018.
Martin Kapenda, the national Micah coordinator, has taken over the management of the Hub. To organize and carry out training in Zambia we expect costs of 20,000 Euros per year. From January 2019 on friends of this work are invited to support the project with the note "Zambia".
Dr. Narry Santos ; Manuel Böhm ; Robert Cousins ; Dr. Johannes Reimer ; Rev. Dr. Timothy Tang meeting to establish the partnership for the Global Diaspora Hub at Tyndale Intercultural Ministry Centre.
Global Training Hub Toronto goes online

Working closely with Tyndale University, from fall 2018 PRN will be offering the first training hub for diasporal communities in the TIM Center (Tyndale Intercultural Ministry). There are more than 70 diasporal communities in Toronto with a population density of more than 30,000. These communities are spiritually served by Mission GTA, an association of migrant communities in the region. Mission GTA is already working together with the TIM Center.
The new Training Hub will be the first global centre to consciously address migrant flows and seek to win them over for peace and reconciliation work in the world. PRN will participate in the center with both teaching staff and administrative staff. The maintenance costs of the center are about $ 100,000. Friends of this work are now invited to donate (keyword: Training Toronto).

RESTORATION

Crisis-Intervention-Teams in action

In October-November 2018, PRN Ukraine plans to send three pastoral intervention teams to the war zone in eastern Ukraine. Local staff will accompany these teams.
They urgently need financially support for these teams. Each of the trips will cost around 1500 Euros, including tickets, supplies and the required material.
All together 4500 Euros are needed. Please transfer the money with the keyword "PRN Ukraine".

ASSISTANCE

New Partner on Board

With the Urban Shalom network of the WEA (World Evangelical Alliance), PRN has a new strategic partner in the development of training hubs in cities. The first joint approach in spring in Lusaka, Zambia, was so positive that we are now pooling our efforts. Urban Shalom will focus on issues related to peace and reconciliation in the city.

INITIATIVE

PRN in Asien
Over the last few months, there have been fascinating new developments in Asia. From several nations we received invitations for PRN to come to the respected country and to organize peace and reconciliation work together with the local alliances.
For example, an invitation  came from the Evangelical Alliance in Pakistan which consists of a consortium of churches. From this alliance, the Church of Pakistan has entered into close talks with PRN for conference planning in 2019. It is planned for the beginning of next year to set  up a national PRN.
Similar invitations came from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Myanmar. PRN is now working on a regional structure for Asia. The PRN activities in Asia are probably managed from Hongkong.

Druzkovka comes to Germany

Planning in advance: For March / April next year, it is planned that a team from the Peace and Reconciliation Center in Druzkovka, Eastern Ukraine, visit Germany. They will talk about their work in the war zone. The many traumatized families and especially children are still a big challenge.
Please contact PRN Germany if you are interested in an appointment with the guests from Ukraine.

Liebe überwindet Hass - Interview beim ERF
Prof. Dr. Johannes Reimer grews up in the former Soviet Union. As a young Christian, he is drafted for military service, but refuses to serve the weapon. This is followed by intelligence interrogations, torture and attempts of assassination. He barely escapes death. Johannes Reimer can forgive the perpetrators, even love them. Listen to the program here:(Recording in German).

Dance2Change the world
Together with Crossroads Media Canada PRN promotes Dance2Change the world, a movement that seeks to express through dance how community can arise. Through an online platform, people around the world can participate and share their story. More information on how to participate can be found here.
