NO THIS IS NOT MY BATHROOM (IMAGE ABOVE)  I WISH!!!
If you have been following me along on Instagram and Facebook my bathroom is under construction at the moment and does not look a thing like the peaceful clean bath above...
Week 2 of the #oneroomchallenge is under way and there has been soooo much progress! It may not look like much at the moment, but let me walk you through the steps we have taken this week...

This is my bathroom at the moment!

Week one was all about DESIGNING, PLANNING, PLANNING, PLANNING, ORDERING MATERIALS, ETC.
This week (week 2) the LABOR HAS BEGUN!!!
We have demo'd everything!!! #demoday by the amazing handyman- Sean Kennedy!!! ...He always makes me happy when he takes the time to plastic everything off and haul away the debris!!
We are living in our home during the bathroom renovation and we have puppies, Hudson & Revere, so taking those steps to prevent any amount of dust or anything the puppies will try to eat is SO APPRECIATED...
Let me remind you of the before images of our 4'x10' master bathroom:

There was the bubble tile from the 60's (actually cool for a second- but no not staying)
There was that yucky porcelain floor tile
The electrical in our house is all low voltage... which means the toggle switches from the 60's also needed to go!
Tile countertops and a vanity that had seen its day years ago
Basically it was a 4'x10' beige and off white boring space that needed a facelift!

Once everything was demo'd we were pleasantly surprised to see the shape of everything. There were only two areas in the floor that had some water damage and needed to be replaced.

Next up was ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING!!
Dwayne from Conforti Plumbing is fantastic!! I just completely appreciate how he takes the time with me to measure and mark out everything!
Working with a linear drain is more complicated than a standard drain. We not only had to have meetings with tile installer, hot mop guys, plumber, etc. to make sure everything I have selected and designed will work together... A good team works together and I cannot brag enough about the trades I have on site taking the time to figure things out and work together to make the job go smoothly and make me soooooo happy!!!
Oh and we started getting packages!!! Plumbing fixtures mainly yay!!

And Ralph & crew from Pleasant Valley Electric always do a great job!
Another site meeting to make sure all is where we want it- take the time!
Because while the walls are open now is our chance to make sure each wall sconce is in the exact position we want it, each ceiling light is placed where its suppose to be, do we need to add and outlets?? Do we want an outlet next to the toilet for the new bidet seat?? YES :-) Also we needed to upgrade to GFI outlets to bring this 60's bathroom to code. The details are everything in design and it shows when it is thought out! #especiallysmallspacedesign

Framing the shower curb, bench, blocking etc.!! A lot of work goes into prepping what you don't see. Our handyman, Sean, was back and did a great job!
The shower feels so much bigger! Even with a bench!! Can you tell I'm so excited???

Today the hot mop is happening in the shower!! Time to waterproof the heck out of it!!
