A fight for love, hope and acceptance in a culture where a 'gift' can bear the ultimate price.
The politically 'important', 'brave' and 'feminist' Bullet Hole has been engaging audiences with its 'powerful' message against FGM and praised for it's 'forceful and moving writing' (The Upcoming). This production will get you talking - we've scheduled in some post-show events to allow audiences to engage in the debate.
Young Londoner Cleo was given her ‘gift’ at age seven – except that ‘gift’ left her with type 3 Female Genital Mutilation.
Cleo resolves to go against her family’s wishes and seek reversal surgery. On her journey of healing, Cleo meets Eve, a fellow FGM survivor. Cleo is determined to stand against the unnecessary suffering behind the practice - and empower Eve to do the same. But Auntie Winnie stands in their way.
