A decade ago a dream became reality.  Stymied too many times by deejays determined to play it safe and not experiment with different types of music an idea was born. How about a dance where the dancers themselves had control of the musical choices by bringing it themselves in a sort of musical potluck....  And thus the Third Street Potluck Dance party was born.  But after all these years of boogying outside under the beachside sun, it's time finally let the program dance off into the sunset...

So, this Sunday, October 14th will be the final THIRD STREET POTLUCK DANCE forever.   

If you've been waiting for the last possible moment to come out and join us, well your moment has arrived. We’ll be partying in our usual area in the Third Street Promenade in the block between Arizona and Wilshire. Please remember to bring both your dance music you want to share and your dancing friends for a wide repertoire of blues, R&B, swing, Westie, turquoise and anything and whatever else you bring. Remember it’s a dance potluck, you provide the music, we provide the permit and sound system.
