Aloha Friends!

For those of you that have been waiting patiently for Maui Nui Venison...It is finally back in stock! We have ground, cubed stew meat, racks, and venison LOIN medallions. Our normal venison LEG medallions are still on backorder but the LOIN medallions are a cut above the leg medallions and a great substitute if you're willing to pay a little extra. This cut comes from the ribeye section and is often referred to as the prized "backstrap." We will only have these for a limited time so make sure to order if you're interested. 

The hunting team of Maui Nui (excluding owner Jake Muise, photogapher) They have been busy continuing work on the Kahiknui project that seeks to restore the forest and harvest wild cattle for the community.  Follow Jake's instagram @deer4dinner for more team photos and videos.


Fundraiser Dinner

Speaking of venison, Kona Brewing will be hosting the Sustainable Coastlines Fundraiser next week, Friday October 19th, and will feature Maui Nui Venison on their menu along with other local meat and fish. Chef Kris has crafted an amazing menu using carefully selected local ingredients especially for this event. If you are like me, and have high "selectavore" standards, this is a dinner you will feel great about indulging in. It also supports the great cause of cleaning up our coastlines and spreading awareness about plastic pollution. 


The second best part of the SCH Fundraiser besides the food is  the Marine Debri Fashion Show! @sustainablecoastlineshawaii



News & Market Update

In other news, our beloved smoked fish dip is still on hold, most likely until next month, but we will have bone broth and lard available this weekend. If you would like either of those products just add them in the comments section of your order form.

If you follow our instagram you may have noticed a post about a recent article written on a new verification seal that uses "ecological outcome verification" In other words, it measures soil health, carbon sequestration, and soil microbial count to decipher if agriculture products are a positive benefit to the environment. Considering we cannot trust the term “organic” to mean good for the earth or protecting animal welfare, it seems like a great science based option. It will be interesting to see how this is received by industry and consumers. Until then, the best practice is still to Know your Farmer, Hunter, Fisherman, or Rancher!
