CORRECTION ON OUR PREVIOUS WATER QUALITY UPDATE:
Our water sample results sent out in the BWTF Weekly Update only show results for the presence of enterococcus*, and DO NOT reflect the current red tide situation.
It is not safe to visit or recreate at PBC beaches, at this time. Please follow all safety recommendations posted at your local beaches.

*Enterococcus bacteria are coliform bacteria that indicate fecal pollution (human or animal waste) and other pathogens that are also found in fecal matter that can make people sick with the stomach flu, rashes, eye and ear infections or worse.

Our volunteers are dedicated to our mission, and are passionate about protecting our ocean and all its inhabitants. However, mistakes do happen. We sincerely apologize for any confusion the previous email may have caused.
