Don't miss this KC FAMILY TRADITION that tickles the funny bones of ALL AGES! Martin City Melodrama & Vaudeville Co. celebrates its 34th season opener with a brand new, world premiere operetta, FRED THE FLAKE, OR, THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SNOW BUSINESS!©
In the flavor of Gilbert and Sullivan, and set to the music from Bach to Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars, this original musical parody helps Fred realize that why no two snowflakes are alike, but he needs the help of the entire flake community. Fred hopes he has community flake support to produce his Broadway-bound production of "THAWED". The story features two elderly sisters fighting over the thermostat for the life expectancy of snowmen and snow-women everywhere. If Fred doesn't get his big musical to Broadway by Christmas, the flake community won't STICK with Fred the Flake and the holidays could be a big melt down.
The operetta is followed by the holiday vaudeville, SEASONAL SILLINESS!© featuring MARTIN CITY MELODRAMA & VAUDEVILLE CO. playing the world famous water glass symphony. This year features the HUMAN FOUNTAINS with the water glasses. The huge FUR-nale features the Martin City Melodrama Old-But-Gold Senior Canine Rescues raising the WOOF off with holiday charm as they wait for Santa Paws!
Directed and Written by Artistic Director, Jeanne Beechwood, the show also features the musical talents of Garrett Myers, the crazy characterizations of Tony Wagner, the ukulele skills of Abby Morrison, and the angelic vocals of Kathy Geisert Carlson Murphy.
