Wishing everyone a happy and successful 2019

2018 was an amazing year for us here at Telcoin as we made great progress on our mission toward financial inclusion. Over the last 12 months we have grown as a company with some amazing talent joining our core team. We have made huge strides forward in the areas of compliance and business development, as well as our tech team creating what we can only describe as an incredible and intuitive API that we can’t wait to share with the world soon.

We’re gearing up to launch our wallet and begin offering revolutionary financial services in multiple countries across the globe.

Our mission is really just beginning and we still have a long way to go to reach our goals - but we want to take a moment and offer a heartfelt thank you to all our community members who have been with us this past year. We are truly grateful for the support and proud that we have such an amazing community who are riding on this journey alongside us.

Thank you from all of us at Telcoin.

Meeting Orange in Paris

Early this month, Telcoin team members Claude, Laurent, and Badrédine met with Orange in Paris to continue discussions regarding Telcoin's remittance model; particularly between Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Representatives from Orange money, a leader in money transfer between Europe and Africa  - with more than 20 million users - were also present.

Telcoin is committed to creating a platform that can provide mobile users with affordable, fast, and convenient remittance services across these regions in the near future. Further details about
Telcoin's development and business partnerships will be released in the coming year.

Telcoin progress in Malaysia

Late in December, Claude traveled to Kuala Lumpur to meet with Devy Parlindungan Siregar, the CEO of Telin Malaysia. Telin Malaysia is the local MVNO subsidiary of Telkom Group, the largest telecommunications conglomerate in Indonesia. Telin is a natural partner for Telcoin remittances, as almost all Telin subscribers are Indonesian expatriates who regularly send money home to Indonesia.

The meeting focused on leveraging Telin's network of around 30,000 dealers in Malaysia with existing payment settlement channels with Telin as well as all major telecoms in Malaysia. Malaysia is a great initial market for Telcoin as it has sizable inbound and outbound remittance corridors, as well as a progressive stance on fintech innovation and cryptocurrency. Telcoin is particularly focused on initial corridors of Malaysia to Indonesia and the Philippines.

Follow-up trips to Malaysia are scheduled to continue discussions in the near future, and we plan to share updates very soon on progress in this important initial market for Telcoin.

New Telcoin website going live

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, a new website focusing on Telcoin’s remittance product will be going live very soon. We hope it better highlights our core use case and allows target users to easily understand the benefit of sending money with the Telcoin Wallet.
