Late in December, Claude traveled to Kuala Lumpur to meet with Devy Parlindungan Siregar, the CEO of Telin Malaysia. Telin Malaysia is the local MVNO subsidiary of Telkom Group, the largest telecommunications conglomerate in Indonesia. Telin is a natural partner for Telcoin remittances, as almost all Telin subscribers are Indonesian expatriates who regularly send money home to Indonesia.
The meeting focused on leveraging Telin's network of around 30,000 dealers in Malaysia with existing payment settlement channels with Telin as well as all major telecoms in Malaysia. Malaysia is a great initial market for Telcoin as it has sizable inbound and outbound remittance corridors, as well as a progressive stance on fintech innovation and cryptocurrency. Telcoin is particularly focused on initial corridors of Malaysia to Indonesia and the Philippines.
Follow-up trips to Malaysia are scheduled to continue discussions in the near future, and we plan to share updates very soon on progress in this important initial market for Telcoin.
