Here's a quick note to let you know what I'm up to currently.
PINE CONE TRANSFORMER
CABINET MURAL
Last month I worked diligently on my pine cone mural. While the transformer cabinet is not on a busy street where it would get drive-by traffic, the appreciation of the Legacy Senior Residence tenants made up for it! I "completed" the mural on September 21, though I still need to add a few twigs and pine needles to finish breaking up the space as required by the City's Transformer Cabinet Mural Project. The final walk-through with the team is on October 10. To see all my progress pictures, visit my Facebook album HERE.
THIS WEEK: GLOBAL VILLAGE MUSEUM MURAL
This project has been in the works for a long time. The Global Village Museum of Arts & Culture has been hoping – for at least a year – to attract more attention to their West Mountain Avenue location by adding color to their courtyard wall. After considering different options and securing approval from the City of Fort Collins, the Museum asked me to further brighten the colors I proposed adding to their Village logo. At long last, on Monday I began sketching outlines on the wall, and just yesterday I began painting! Keep track of my progress by visiting my Facebook page Gale Whitman Art Studio and see an album of progress photos HERE.
RIVER ROCK: NATIVE WILDFLOWERS & GARDEN VEGETABLES
I've also been working on designs for a pair of transformer cabinets requested by River Rock CoHousing community. Since they are sponsored by a 2018 neighborhood grant, the cabinet murals need to be completed this year. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate. Stay tuned!
