Dear Dancers, 

We hope you’ve had nourishing summers - wherever you have found yourselves - and that you have already started the deep dive and transition into Autumn. As the seasons settle into their obvious and not so obvious changes, there are some changes for Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich that we announce here with heavy hearts.

Saturday 5 Rhythms Norwich has had more than its fair share of disruptions in the last year, in all directions. As you are all aware, there was the stopping and leaving of all the teachers and then a re-start and then further leaving of the last teachers. Ruth stepped up with backing from the community to make a go of continuing to bring the dance to the dancers, with the support and help of Liz in the role of organiser with contributions from Jo, who was scheduled to take on the role of producer, as Liz stepped down in October. Although initially there was an interest in this new formation of Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich, unfortunately numbers have decreased and it is not sustainably viable any longer.

Whilst this is sadly not just all about the challenging financial side of producing Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich, there is only so much we three can expend energetically to enable this to move forward in its current incarnation as, like everyone else, we also have our full lives to maintain. 

We would love for you all to join us in celebrating all that Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich has been to all of us and let it go with love into the night sky with our final dance on Saturday 6th October at St Luke’s from 6.45pm - 9.15pm. We are offering this as a FREE EVENT to All without charge. As usual, the doors will open at 6.30pm and will be locked at 7pm.

Please join us bringing love, respect and kindness as we journey as individuals in our dance and sit in community to close. 

We would also like to ask everyone to bring something of significance to put on the installation. It could represent what Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich has meant to you or not, it is an entirely personal choice. 

We all know that as one door closes, many doors open. As we witness this ending on Saturday 6th October, this will without doubt give way to new growth and new beginnings for all. We would like it to be a celebration of endings, saying goodbye in this configuration, and if there is energy for new growth and new beginnings - please let that come forward. 

Please join us in the dance to make this occasion a truly respectful and special send off, honouring all those people over the years who have enabled the 5 year journey of Saturday 5Rhythms Norwich to this point, both behind the scenes and on the dance floor.
