I guess by now you’ve all heard the news about Sam Kerr being signed on as the W-Leagues first marquee player. I’d be interested to know what that means in $$$ because my guess is it’d be the most a female footballer has ever been paid in Australia. Good on her.

Set your alarms for 5am NOW to wake up tomorrow to watch the Matildas v. France. Live on Fox Sports and SBS. It’ll be a tough challenge for the Matildas, we aren’t fielding all our stars but it will be a good chance to see some different combinations. They’ll back this up by playing England on Wednesday, again at 5am. C’mon, you live for these early mornings, right?!

Jada Whyman, Alex Chidiac and Princess Ibini are all preparing in lyrical style. These Australians got talent.

What else is coming up?

My women’s sport calendar is up to date to the end of October @ me with anything missing.

The Australian Ultimate League is a new national competition that is aiming for complete gender equity. It's being played mixed, with equal numbers of men and women both on the field and in the coaching staff. It's about halfway through its first season now, with the final due to take place on 13 October in Sydney. Get amongst it.

Like Moana, I decided some time ago it’s not worth my time to argue with people who don’t see how awesome women’s sport is. Especially those that might try to ‘protect’ us. Honestly.
