Just a note to remind you about Parent Voice on Thursday at 5pm.
If you cannot come but want to send me an email asking a question about school please do so. I endevour over the year to hold meetings which parents can come to! We obviously can't please everyone all of the time but we do try to have a spread of times and days. We do not discuss individuals, so if you have a question about your child specifically please see the teacher or make an appointment to see me.
I was with the Y1 children today at Rosemoor and we had some fantastic comments from members of the public on the excellent way the children behaved and moved about the site. I followed the Reception and Y1 children down to the beach on Wednesday with our CEO Mrs Batten and I had a delightful conversation with two retired teachers about the children's behaviour at the beach - which was excellent. Mrs Batten was also very impressed with the Sea School provision and the unique opportunity for learning this way at CMPS.
Our PTFA AGM will be held on the 18th October at 7pm in School. I would encourage all parents interested in enhancing the education of their child at school attends and offers some help over the coming year.

Nasal Flu vaccination – Electronic consent
From September 2018 the Immunisation Team will be offering the Flu vaccination to all Primary Children from Reception to year 5. Delivery of the vaccine will run October - December 2018 across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay and this year the Immunisation Team are adopting electronic consent.
In order to provide electronic consent for your child’s Flu vaccination, please can we request that you access the consent portal via the link below and follow the online instructions.
We would like to request that consent is provided electronically before Friday 5th October 2018. This is to ensure our nurses have sufficient time to clinically assess the information. This link is secure and unique to your child’s school. Full details and information to assist you in completing the electronic consent is detailed on the consent portal including full FAQ’s, patient information and contact details should you wish to speak to one of the school Immunisation Nurses regarding the nasal vaccination.
The application system to apply for year 7 in September 2019 is now open. You can apply by making your application online now.
Please note the system will close on the 31 October 2018. You can still apply after this date but applications will be considered late and may be at a disadvantage. Please see the ‘late applications’ tab for more information.
How to apply
You can make an application on the Citizens Portal. If you cannot apply online, please contact the Education helpline on 0345 155 1019 and ask for a paper copy of the form to be sent to you. Please note that it is not possible to make an application by email.

All Year 6 pupils have received their letter in regards to the London Residential 2019. We held a meeting on Thursday 27th September with Mr Railston to answer any questions in regards to the trip.
This is a fabulous opportunity for your children to enjoy some of our great places of interest in our capital city.
The cost of this trip will be £320.00 which includes accommodation, food, theatre tickets and admission cost but there will be an additional cost for travel once best value has been found.
Please pay your deposit of £25.00 by Friday 12th October 2018 to secure your child's place on this visit. EXTENDED AND FINAL DEADLINE.
We have a number of trips and events taking place this term and next term which involves asking you to contribute. We rely on parent contributions to enable us to take your children out of the classroom and give them the life skills and Big Experiences to motivate their learning.
Without these contributions, unfortunately these Big Experiences will not be able to take place.

Year 6 have once again been invited to the Big Bang event @ Great Torrington School. All pupils should have received a letter informing them of the days programme and coach times.
There is a small contribution of £5 per pupil. Please ensure this is paid online on via ScoPay.
May we please remind all parents that trips and events are only viable if contributions are made.

We are now able to accept 30 hour codes for children entitled from September 2018. To see if your child is eligible please check the following website; www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Children who are already claiming do not need a new code but you will need to renew online when prompted by HMRC.
We are also registering children who are eligible for 2gether funding. If you have not received a golden ticket and think you may be eligible please check www.devon.gov.uk/2yearoldfunding

Tempest Photography
Tempest will be in on Wednesday 10th October 2018 for individual portraits. If your child is not in Nursery on this day or you would like to bring siblings in to have photos taken with your child then please drop in between 8.30am and 10am. Thank you.
