Dear Friend:

  • October 11Shawnee Mission Post Candidate Forum 6:30-7:30pm at the Village Church in Prairie Village

  • October 18YMCA Candidate Forum 8:30-10:00am at the Olathe Family YMCA, 21400 W 153rd Street, Olathe.
Campaign Update
It was great to spend the evening with former Senator Audrey Langworthy and her husband, Asher, as well as former Rep. Sheryl Spalding and her husband Doug at the Library Lets Loose fundraiser for the Johnson County public library system. I enjoyed celebrating the role our libraries play in our community and connecting with constituents and friends.
I also testified to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee on behalf of the Kansas Forest Service Advisory Council regarding the 2018 Legislative Post Audit report on wildfire management in Kansas. This is an important step in the process of securing additional funding for wildfire prevention and suppression efforts.
Ribbon cutting for the new patio at Houlihan’s in Fairway hosted by the NEJC Chamber of Commerce
Speaking engagement at Shawnee Mission East with the Women’s Empowerment Club about women & politics. Great conversation with future leaders.
I am working on a daily basis to meet voters door-to-door, hold neighborhood Meet & Greets, and talk to as many voters as possible. I appreciate those who have accepted my invitation to discuss the issues, appreciate those willing to put my record of service on your behalf at the forefront of your decision-making, and am grateful for the long list of volunteers working to help me campaign.

If you would like to join the team, please reply to this email and we will find a job that meets your time and skills!

When the videos of forums listed above are posted online, I will share them on social media as well as in forthcoming newsletters.

Get Involved
Campaign season is well underway and I would appreciate your support. Please contact me if you are willing to contribute to my campaign in any of the following ways.
  • Host a yard sign in your yard. Simply email me and we will deliver a sign to your house and pick it up once the election is over.
  • Join me knocking doors. This is the single most effective way to connect with voters.
  • Host a neighborhood coffee. Please email me so we can set a date. These are a terrific way to meet people in small groups for good conversation.
Please consider a donation to my campaign. To make an online donation, visit melissarooker.com or you are welcome to send checks to:

Call me!
There is a lot of intentional misinformation being spread about me, so beware of attempts to twist my record of service in Topeka to suit a particular narrative. Don’t fall for it! I have always put people and policy over politics and will continue to do so.

If you see anything that raises questions, please contact me. I have worked very hard to earn your trust and respond to your concerns during my service. Nothing about that will change.

As I have stated before, materials distributed by my campaign will be clearly marked:
“Paid for by Melissa Rooker for State Representative, Sheila Davis treasurer.” If you receive other materials, I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for the honor and privilege of representing you. I ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 6th!
Sincerely,

Rep. Melissa Rooker
Kansas State Representative, District 25
Serving Northeast Johnson County
