Gordon Highway work closing lanes near Fort Gordon

AUGUSTA- The active Augusta-Richmond County pavement preservation contract continues Monday with Gordon Highway crack sealing.

Drivers will notice a single lane closure beginning near East Robinson Avenue/State Route (SR) 223 and moving toward Jimmie Dyess Parkway. General work hours are 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday though adjustments will be made based on peak time traffic flow.

This maintenance contract features recently completed work on SR 88 in Hephzibah and plans for Peach Orchard Road from the Burke County line to Tobacco Road.

Peach Orchard Road closures begin on Tuesday this week. Expect the same general work hours and single lane closures.

The traveling public should expect possible delays for several weeks once crews move into a location.
