Did you know?

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every year, approximately 1.3 million women and 835,000 men are physically assaulted by an intimate partner in the United States. Many of these cases are never reported to the police. Learn more about domestic violence prevention in King County and read memoirs, fiction, and poetry by survivors.

Social Justice Book Group  

Experience a rich opportunity to meet neighbors and build community by reading and discussing books written from diverse perspectives. Selected books focus on the experiences of people of color, LGBTQ, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups, as well as social issues such as immigration and poverty. The book group will meet at Shoreline Library on Sunday, October 14, 2-4pm, to discuss Surpassing Certainty: What My Twenties Taught Me by Janet Mock.

Discussing The Hate U Give

Join us for a panel discussion on this bestselling young adult book, which has been made into a movie. The panel is moderated by partners from EmpowHERment. Saturday, October 20, 3-4pm at Westfield Southcenter Sky Terrace.
