Austin Sanctuary Network

Dear Faith Leaders and Supporters of the Austin Sanctuary Network (ASN),
We are calling on members of the ASN to help Hilda, Ivan and Alirio who are currently in Sanctuary in Austin. As stated in the attached letter, the ASN will travel to San Antonio on October 18th with Hilda and Alirio as they each file a Stay of Removal. A large crowd supporting them could make all the difference!

Please plan to travel to San Antonio by bus the morning of the 18th and spread the word to others in your congregations and organizations.  The trip will be at no cost--snacks and water will be provided.  The plan is to leave at 9:00 a.m. and be back in Austin by mid-afternoon.

Buses will leave from both St. Andrew's and the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin.  Please encourage members of your congregation or organization to attend. In order to get a head count to determine the number of buses needed, please have those that are going fill out the registration form at the link below.  Thank you for your support!

October’s MFSA meeting

Get Out the Vote with the Methodist Federation for Social Action

Come one!  Come all!  Let’s work together to increase voter participation in Travis County this November.  How?  Well, we are so glad you asked.  Attend the October meeting of the Rio Texas MFSA on Thursday, October 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to discover ways you can support voter turnout this fall.  The meeting will be at Saint John’s United Methodist Church, at 2410 Allandale Road, in Austin.  Christina Leal of Central Texas Interfaith will guide guests through ways to increase voter participation.  This nonpartisan effort may be the most important effort we will engage in this year!  Snacks and mingling begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the program at 7 pm.  Bring friends and family to learn what you can do to make a difference in your community.

Thanks for all that each of you does to foster social justice in our world.
