25th Anniversary of the Festival of Trees
Each year the school sponsors 2-3 major fundraisers.  The first is the Festival of Trees.  This takes place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and this year marks the 25th anniversary of the event.  The profits from the event allow us to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education at Saint John School.  In essence, each family receives $200 from the event.  The event is a dinner, auction, and various raffles.  We need each family to take an active role.
This year we need volunteers to:
  • Bake cookies;
  • Donate to class baskets;
  • Volunteer to help at the evening;
  • Sell a table of 10 tickets to the event;
  • Encourage your son/daughter to volunteer;
  • Pitch in wherever you can.
Please go to the links below to volunteer to bake cookies or to volunteer for a duty.  Information on Class Baskets will be coming soon.  This event draws over 400 people and it’s a delightful evening and a wonderful to end the Thanksgiving weekend and kick-off the holiday season.

Thank You In Advance!

Teacher Professional Development Day
School will not be in session on Monday, October 8th. On the original master calendar, October 12th was to be a diocesan wide professional development day.  Prior to school starting, the date was changed to October 8th.  This is what is indicated in the monthly newsletter.  On October 11th the football team will play at Edgewood at 7:00 PM.  Friday, October 12th is a school day.  We fully expect all students to be in school on time.  Volleyball and basketball games are often held on school nights and the time the football game ends is no later than these athletic contests. Thank you for your cooperation.

Life Saver & 911SafeChild
Saint John has a unique opportunity to offer our families two Life Saving Apps that have evidence of being priceless in an emergency.  One or both of these should be of interest to you and people you know, because having immediate access to a Personal Health Record (PHR) in an emergency could save the life of a loved one when they are unconscious, incoherent, or simply afraid.  Please click on the link below to get all of the information you need:

BOX TOP Season is Here!
It's time to earn free money again with BOX TOPS!  The annual fall BOX TOPS collection will run from October 8th - 12th this year. Collecting BOX TOPS is a great way to support your Saint John PTO!  The PTO then uses the funds to provide activities directly to the students. Please bring all box tops to your homeroom teacher (do not bring to the office) for your class to receive credit. The class with the highest number of BOX TOPS will earn Brandt's apple donuts and cider for breakfast at the end of the month!!!  Teachers, please turn in the envelopes no later than October 12th!  Thank you in advance for supporting the PTO!
