Literary Pumpkins for Fall Fest
It’s time to transform a pumpkin into your favorite book character. Decorate, carve or paint a pumpkin like your favorite book character for this year’s Fall Fest. Bring your pumpkin to the library starting on Monday, October 15. Pumpkins will be displayed in the library all week and at Fall Fest. If you bring a pumpkin, please plan on taking it home after Fall Fest.

Es la hora de transformar una calabaza en tu personaje favorito del libro. Decora, talla o pinta una calabaza como tu personaje favorito de un libro para el Festival de Otoño de este año. Trae tu calabaza a la biblioteca comenzando el lunes, 15 de Octubre. Las calabazas serán exhibidas en la biblioteca toda la semana y en el Festival de otoño. Si traes una calabaza, por favor planea en llevarla a casa después del Festival de Otoño.

Box Tops for Education - Get Going!
Get going, and collect all the box tops you can! Remember, 1 box top = $0.10, so 15 box tops = $1.50. See how quickly the money can add up! Churchill has approximately 700 students, so if everyone brings in 10 box tops, we can earn $700! The 3 students who collect the most box tops will receive an age-appropriate book. Remember to label the bag or envelope with your child's name when sending Box Tops to school.
In order to be eligible for the book award, Box Tops must be received by Friday, October 26. Box tops received after that point will be considered for the winter prizes (and box tops received after the spring deadline will be included in this fall award). Look for the Box Top label on your favorite products - what an easy way to support the school!
Tapas de la Caja para la Educación - ¡Vamos!
¡Vamos, recoge todas las tapas de cajas que puedas! Recuerden, 1 Tapa de Caja= $0,10, así que 15 Tapas de Cajas = $1,50. ¡ Vea lo rápido que puede aumentar el dinero! Volunteers Needed for Hearing & Vision Screening
Are you looking for a quick and easy volunteer opportunity with "no strings attached?" Please help our Churchill nurses with the upcoming hearing and vision screenings on Mon. 10/15, Tues. 10/16, and Thurs. 11/1. It's easy and it's SO appreciated! No experience necessary...you just need to help get the children to/from the screenings.

Churchill Cares Volunteer Opportunity
Churchill Cares would like to invite you and your family to join our entire D41 community at a wonderful volunteering opportunity. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit charity that uses volunteers to help package nutritious meals for many malnourished communities around the world.
We have reserved a full packing session at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg (1072 National Parkway, Schaumburg) on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00-7:30pm. Your entire family is welcome to join us in this fun event. Kids must be kindergarten age and older.
If you’d like one of the 60 spots available for Churchill families, please e-mail the names of participating family members and grade level for the kids to Stacy Witcher at waligst@yahoo.com.

Spirit Wear Reminder
If you ordered spirit wear, you can pick it up near the front door during Fall Fest on Friday, 10/19. There will also a limited quantity of the Churchill Timberwolves car magnets for sale for $5 each. If ordered items are not picked up during Fall Fest, items will be sent home from school with your child on Monday, October 22.

Recordatorio sobre “Spirit Wear” (Ropa con Logo de Churchill)
Si ha pedido “Spirit Wear” (ropa con logo de Churchill), puede recogerla cerca de la puerta principal durante el Festival de Otoño el viernes 19 de octubre. También se venderá una cantidad limitada de imanes de coche de los Churchill Timberwolves por $5 cada uno. Churchill Cares - Winter Outerwear Drive
As the temperatures begin to drop, please consider donating your gently used or new winter outerwear to D41 families in need. A donation bin will be located at the home of Lisa Ciosek, 244 Sheffield Lane, Glen Ellyn between 10/7 -10/21. We are collecting outerwear in sizes pre-K through 8th grade/young adult. Shopping at Family Tree Resale Benefits D41 Families
Did you know? You can help D41 families in need by shopping and/or donating items at Family Tree Resale!
Simply mention "D41" when there and you will be earning vouchers to our district. D41 families in need receive these vouchers through our social workers and shop for free at Family Tree! The more you shop/donate, the more vouchers our schools receive! :)
Family Tree is located in the Jewel Mall next to Office Depot at Geneva and Main in Wheaton. Hours are 10 - 7 Mon - Sat, 10 - 6 on Sundays. Phone: 630-469-4576
A free pick up service is also available for furniture donataions. Simply call to schedule.
