Pedal for a Purpose

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am writing you with a heart full of gratitude for your synod and Pr. Adam's initiative to support Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center through Pedal for a Purpose this year. Our celebration event may not have been the numbers we were hoping for with 6 cyclists and a few more friends afterwards for lunch and worship, but God has shown his blessing in the ripples of impact that continue to follow afterwards.

Just the day itself brought in $1,080 from the support of our bicyclists, their sponsors, and friends who came to the celebration. Four additional congregations and some individuals in all three synods have sent in donations afterwards. As a result, we currently have received $15,838 (63% of our $25,000 goal)!

With keynote addresses by Diana Butler Bass and Chick Lane, and almost forty workshops to choose from, attendees were inspired by the themes of generosity and gratitude.

“The entire Kaleidoscope Conference was inspiring. The content was spiritual and practical. I found myself taking many notes as I did not want to forget anything. I know this experience will assist me in my job as stewardship chair.”

Hurricane Relief

The 2018 hurricane season continues to produce strong storms with potentially devastating impacts to the United States and across the globe.Lutheran Disaster Response is coordinating its response with Lutheran Services Florida, the Florida-Bahamas Synod, as well as our partners and affiliates in other impacted areas. As a church, we’re ready to stand by our neighbors in the Gulf as they recover from this season’s hurricanes.
Your gifts designated for “Hurricane response” will be used entirely (100 percent) for direct response until it is complete. Together, we can help provide immediate and long-lasting support for those whose lives have been impacted by hurricanes.
