What a productive retail Industry Chat we had yesterday, discussion varied from web based concerns to marketing to Christmas to issues around public transport.
It is great news for our city that we will welcome many new workers into the CBD in the very near future but it is critical that we fix the local public transport system so that people can move around our city effectively.
Additional workers in the CBD should be viewed with an eye firmly focused on the opportunities they will deliver in particular for our retail and hospitality businesses but we must ensure that the CBD remains a healthy environment for all enterprise to exist and grow.

Professor Helen Bartlett commenced her role as Vice-Chancellor and President of Federation University Australia on 1 May 2017. She has worked in higher education for more than 30 years, holding senior leadership roles at all organisational levels in universities in the UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia.
