Invitation

Knowledge Session:
"A Social Business Case for Disability Inclusion in Development"

Thursday 1st November 2018
15:30 - 16:30
Utrecht

We warmly invite you to join our knowledge session about the economic impact of disability inclusion, by Annet Lukkien (Inclusion Matters).

There is a strong assumption that disability inclusion is costly. This assumption might be one of the main barriers that prevents governments from developing more inclusive policies and others from developing more inclusive services, programmes or workplaces. But what does the literature actually say about these costs? Aren’t the costs of exclusion and the benefits of inclusion much higher for society in the end?

Join our discussion on how to present a strong 'case' for disability inclusion! We’ll digitally launch the final version of Annet Lukkien’s review on December 3rd, World Disability Day. Your feedback and inputs are welcome, so that we present the best possible case to the world.

Moreover, we're happy to announce that VOICE will also be joining this discussion and bring in their inclusion expertise. We'll end the session with a brief presentation by the VOICE fund on where and how they work on (disability) inclusion and which new opportunities are coming up. There will be room for a Q&A in which we can explore linkages you can make between VOICE and your work or your partners.

If you'd like to join the session, please send us an email at dcdd@dcdd.nl
