This Week...
This Sunday we are at Sidney Stringer Academy.

We will be continuing our new three part series: 'A Community on a Journey", looking at what we can learn from the people of Israel as they moved forward into what God had in store for them.

Each first Sunday of the month we take church out into our neighbourhoods. Our next Neighbourhood Sundays for this term are: 4th November & 2nd December

Visit our website to find out what is going on in your local neighbourhood and to contact your Neighbourhood Leaders.

From our Pastors...
As we move forward as a people called 'church' we are dependent on the Holy Spirit to lead us and form us. We are also a Community on a Journey; a tribe that reaches out beyond ourselves towards our neighbours as we seek to bring community transformation though authentic relationships, spiritual formation and sacrificial service. The reports we have had from our first Neighbourhood Sunday have been so encouraging, some of these were shared on Sunday.

Over the next few weeks we will be exploring what it means to be a Growing Community, a Generous Community and we are thrilled to have Don & Lynne Hart (from Wells Vineyard Church) with us this week to share their story and encourage us to be a Caring Community.
-Nick & Vicki

[PS: Please pray for Nick as he visits Soren & Lisa Samuelsen and Yangon Vineyard this week in Myanmar and teaches at a Vineyard Asian Leaders meeting this weekend in Bangkok]
In other news...

Once a month we gather as a church to simply seek the Father's presence.

Join us next time at 1 Mill Street [7-10pm] to pray, worship and together as we Seek Him on Friday 2nd November. For future dates click [here].

During our time together we also want to learn and develop spiritual exercises for the journey. To work with the Holy Spirit in developing habits and practices that keep us connected with Him as we live out this life of following Jesus.

Life Groups are an essential part of church life. This is where we do life together and bring life to our neighbourhoods.

They help you to take steps in your spiritual journey, whether you are just starting to explore faith or wanting to go deeper. In Life Group you will find others to support you in your journey.   Sign up from 2nd September [here].
We are committed to encouraging people to be disciples who make disciples, equipping them to live lives as followers of Jesus and helping them express the love of God to those around them.

Our Journey Groups are one-to-one groups designed for those who have made the decision to go deeper in their spiritual growth, forming habits that help them to become more like Jesus and sharing Him with others. Click here for details and to sign up

Exciting news - Coventry Vineyard is launching GrowBaby!
As a way of showing God’s extravagant love in a practical way, we plan to have a store of children’s clothes and baby equipment at Mill Street. This will be made available to anyone in need. Other churches have found this really engages people and has led to many other community initiatives.

How can you help?
- Pray - That we meet with those in our community that need our help.
- Donate - Do you have baby/children’s items (in good condition) you no longer need? Have you seen any useful items in your local charity shop? If so, please bring them to Mill street or give them to Zia at Stringer Stringer on a Sunday morning. Please also spread the word to others who have things to donate.
- Give - You can also give financially to this initiative. Please mark any monetary donations as being specifically for GrowBaby.
- Volunteer - Get involved with sorting clothes or giving them out and building community with families – either chat to Zia or email her for more information.
- Publicise - Please talk to your neighbours and friends about this, and spread the word to anyone you think would benefit from this. We will soon have leaflets and posters available to give/display.

Thanks in advance!
We often have CAP clients whose phones have died or are unreliable and so we are putting together a store of old phones to give to clients.
Many of you will have an old phone lying about that you won't ever use again!

If that is you, would you consider letting us have it to pass on?
Simply hand it to Ian Burton, Nick & Chris Darlington, or Jo Thatcher.

We just wanted to pass on thanks from A Rocha Uganda for all the bio-sand water filters we raised money for over last Christmas. Here is one story of a life which has been changed by your generosity.

Any suggestions for this year’s charity project would be appreciated. Just email Vicki.

Esther Lubwama is a 73 year old widow, a resident of Kyambogo village. She lives with 7 people, 2 below 5 years. Being an elderly lady she does not work but survives on assistance provided by relatives.

Before the family got a water filter, she used to boil 10 litres of water a day using either firewood or charcoal.

It was also difficult and expensive to get clean water because their community has limited supply of municipal water and in most cases they resorted to fetch turbid water from a nearby unprotected well.

After getting a filter from A Rocha Uganda, the family no longer worries about the turbidity of the water. The water from the nearby well is dirty but after filtering we get clean water for drinking and other homes purposes.

“I am also happy to share the filtered water with other people who ask for it because I got the filter at a free cost”, said Esther.

If you would like to donate towards A Rocha or buy a Bio-sand water filter, please visit their shop.
The Cause to Live For is happening this November (17-17th) in a blaze of worship, teaching and ministry. Come and join a gathering of young adults who are desperate to see a move of God’s Kingdom break out across our nations. Sign up here.
