While in hospital for cardiac surgery, Chris survived an ischemic stroke to his spinal cord. The stroke robbed him of his ability to run. walk, stand, feed or even turn himself in his bed. With less than 11 months before his wedding, Chris was forced to face the fight of his life – the fight to regain his independence – the fight to get his life back.
The journey has been long and difficult. It was complicated with the unexpected news of life threatening blood clots in both of his legs.
When his insurance company was ready to give up on his recovery, Chris wasn’t. Combined with his own determination and the undying loving support of his dream girl, Chris pushed forward, making his own path to rebuilding his life while reclaiming most of his mobility and independence.
