Timeline update regarding calculus requirement for engineering

As has been communicated previously, the University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering has proposed removing Calculus 30 (or equivalent) as an admission requirement for its Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.E.) program. The proposal must progress through approval processes at the university. However, a decision is expected to be made in late November.

Students who have not completed calculus but are interested in engineering are encouraged to apply now. While approval is pending, applications will be held until a decision is reached. If the proposal is approved, applications will be considered right away. And if it is not approved, there are several pathways to engineering already in place at uSask to help students achieve the requirements for entry and to prepare for future studies in engineering.

Students who are currently enrolled in calculus or who are planning to take it in the second semester are encouraged to complete it, as the concepts and content taught in high school-level calculus are a portion of what will be taught in university-level calculus. Previous experience with this subject matter can be beneficial to students who have the opportunity to access it.
