As we get closer to early voting and Election Day, we are going to tighten our focus on the core Sharpstown area, trying to reach every possible Democrat. Join us as we return to the first three precincts we canvassed in early September, precincts 296/297/426.

One of the most important responsibilities tasked to Harris County Democratic clubs is what's called the "Vote By Mail Ballot Chase." This is a two-part process. The first part is to call Democratic seniors who received an application for a mail ballot, encouraging them to return it by October 27th. The second part is to contact everyone who received a mail ballot to make sure that they return it with the proper postage ASAP. These are EASY calls to make! But they don't make themselves.
We have great news--you can now make these calls from the comfort of your own home! There's no need to go to a specific phone bank held at a remote location. All you need is a computer with internet access and a phone.

This will take you to the Open VPB (Virtual Phone Bank) website. Click on Get Started. You may be asked to log in with an ActionID. If you do not have one, you can follow the instructions on setting one up. Once you are logged in, you will see a screen with a voter's name and phone number, as well as the script you can read. As the voter answers your questions, record their responses using the drop-down menu for each one. When your call is complete, click on Save & Next Call to go to the next voter. If you are done calling for the day, you can click on Stop Making Calls.
Be sure to take some time to read over the script so that you are familiar with it, and make any tweaks you feel make the call more "comfortable." The important thing is that we reach as many people as possible to make sure they vote.
This is probably the most important election of all of our lifetimes, and we can't afford for anyone to sit on the sidelines. Please try to make as many calls are you are able--every little bit helps!
