OCTOBER 2018

The Net Will Appear is having its NYC premiere this December!

I am so psyched that this play is finding its NYC legs. Mile Square Theatre and The Collective NY are co-producing and bringing the show to 59E59 Theaters. Mark Cirnigliaro is directing. The amazing Richard Masur is reprising his role as Bernard and we have two incredible young actresses sharing the role of 9-year-old Rory. I'll be sharing more info soon, but for now, tickets are on sale HERE and we run from December 5th through 30th. I'll be at the show a lot, so let me know when you're coming and we'll grab a holiday drink!

(Pellissippi State Community actors rehearse Soft Animals)

The Farm Theatre's College Collaboration Project rules! I feel so fortunate to be one of their playwrights this year and am enjoying the ride. Last week I got to travel to Knoxville to hang with the cast and production team of Soft Animals at Pellissippi State Community College. They are doing incredible work. This first production of the play will open November 9th. I'll be in the audience and part of the talkback. Then, Arkansas State is up next!

I'm happy to be presenting my short  play CHECK-OUT as part of the sixth New Masculinities Festival this Saturday October 20th at NYC's Lesbian, Gay, BIsexual and Transgender Community Center. The New Masculinities Festival examines the impact of expectations of masculinity on people's lives and imagines new possibilities for gender expression. They use the power of theatre, dance, poetry, spoken word, performance art and dialogue to challenge thinking and transport participants to new worlds and perspectives. The wonderful Jack Dentinger is directing. Don Carter and Michael Grew are acting. Our piece is in the first group that starts at 4pm. For tickets go HERE.

(Director Mark Cirnigliaro, playwright Erin Mallon and ATG Artistic Director Jim Vagias at Skin Hungry talkback)

It was such a treat bringing my new play Skin Hungry to South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) with American Theatre Group last week. Big thanks for Jim Vagias for believing in the play. Mark Cirnigliaro directed this brilliant cast: Swann Gruen, Kathryn Kates, Becca L. McLarty and Andy Scully. Now, it's time to rewrite and see where the play wants to go next!

Shifting gears to audiobook news...  I've been cooking up some fun audio goodness with the great Lauren Blakely. I wanted to make sure you new about the Full Cast short story included at the end of Lauren's Once Upon a Wild Fling, narrated by Andi Arndt, Sebastian York, Joe Arden and me. You may have also heard there's a cool cameo moment in Once Upon a Sure Thing? Lots of fun plans in the works for the future too:)

Our interview series continues over at Romance Narrators! "Between the Sheets" is our weekly dive into the life and work of your favorite romance narrators. Head on over to our blog and read all about your favorite sweet talkers. A few weeks back I actually got on the other side of the interviewing table (so to speak) and my pal Amy Landon interviewed me! You can read that one HERE.

I got to do something a little different last month in the booth, thanks to the great folks over at Simon and Schuster Audio. I believe this is my first Christmas book? It was a blast working on Richard Paul Evans' wonderful story. He got me all excited for the holidays. The Noel Stranger is up for pre-order now and releases on November 6th!

As always, each month I like to give a recommendation for an artist or project that I love. This month I'm shouting out The Collective again and our production of David Thigpen's Hurricane Party. It's been an amazing run, we extended and now just a few shows remain this weekend, The play features a truly stellar cast and is directed by the wonderful Maria Dizzia.  For full information and tickets go HERE
