Boosterthon Fun Run and Color Run coming soon!
Hilburn Academy has a goal to raise $20,000 for PTA Funding.
By partnering with Boosterthon, our students will participate in a two-week, fitness-based fundraiser where they’ll learn essential character traits through this year’s theme: MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB.

October Family Night Out at Jason's Deli!
Family Nights Out are a great way to enjoy dinner with fellow Hilburn Hawks and benefit our school, too! Just tell the cashier you're there supporting Hilburn Academy, and a percentage of sales comes back to our school. Our October Family Night Out will be at Jason's Deli at Brier Creek on Tuesday, Oct. 23. We also need a certain number of people to "commit to eat" for this event. From PTA Advocacy: Information about voting and school bond resolution
Early voting has started in Wake County and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. Wake PTA Council has information about what's on the ballot in Wake County, including School Board members and County Commissioners. Read more at wakepta.org/wcpta-latest-news/election-2018
Also, the Hilburn Academy PTA Board voted unanimously at its Oct. 9 board meeting to pass a resolution supporting and endorsing Wake PTA Council's resolution in favor of the Wake County School Bond Referendum. Orange Shirt Day: Wednesday, Oct. 24. During Bullying Prevention Month, this National Unity Day calls for everyone to wear orange.
Let's Sock it to Bullying: Monday, Oct. 29. Wear crazy socks.
Let's Give Bullying the Boot!: Tuesday, Oct. 30. Western day. Wear boots, plaid shirts, etc.
Upstanders Show Good Character: Wednesday, Oct. 31. Dress up as favorite character in a book who is a positive role model.
Sticking Together Against Bullying (Twin Day): Thursday, Nov. 1. Dress up similar to a friend.
Let's Put Bullying to Sleep (Wear pajamas): Friday, Nov. 2.

Middle School outing to Frankie's Fun Park on Nov. 2
The first middle school outing is coming up!!

Can you help on the PTA Nominating Committee?
We are looking for three parents to join the Hilburn PTA nominating committee. The nominating committee is responsible for putting forth a slate of volunteers to steer our PTA’s activities in the upcoming year. Most of the work will come during the spring, as we actively recruit people to fill different roles. At this time, we are looking for people to join the Nominating Committee, as our bylaws state we need a committee in place by November 1.
