#9: A trio of senior-level promotions at Duke includes Deputy AD for Administration & Legal Affairs/Chief of Staff King up to the Senior Deputy AD line. King also picks up sport administrator responsibilities of FB & will run the department alongside Senior Deputy AD Kennedy. Senior Assoc. AD for External Affairs Jackson slides up to Deputy AD for MBB, Blue Devil Network & Digital Media. Assoc. AD for External Affairs Chase gets the Senior Assoc. AD bump. (link)
#8: DePaul AD Lenti Ponsetto and MBB HC Leitao have reportedly filed for an emergency order of protection against former AHC Carter, alleging that Carter made threatening comments towards them. According to the order, which was requested on September 25, Carter, upset at being let go from the DePaul coaching staff, told Leitao he would "physically bury him" and that he would "knock on [Leitao's] door at home." Additionally, Carter tweeted ostensibly threatening song lyrics earlier in the month, and those phrases were also included in the order, which Leitao requested also be extended to his wife and son. The university has since released a statement, which reads, in part: "Like many institutions, the University must sometimes seek assistance from the courts to protect its rights and its people. As these are pending legal matters, we are unfortunately unable to comment further." (link)
#7: A new AD chair opens as New Orleans boss Morel is headed to become the EVP of Sales & Marketing for the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Morel led the Privateers for the last six years & will be followed in the interim by Assoc. AD for Internal Operations Granito. UNO Prez Nicklow lauds Morel for his contributions, says the university will conduct a national search. (link)

#4: More shakeup at ECU as WBB HC Macy resigns after posting a 137-117 mark in eight seasons, "I regret that my misunderstanding about practice rules has led to this end, but I have chosen to resign in order to save the University and the team from any unnecessary distractions." Pirates AC Killinger will lead the program on an interim basis. Will this hire eventually be made by a new AD in Greenville? (link)
#3: Sixty former FCS level student-athletes have signed to play in the newly forming Alliance of American Football. Each player gets a three-year, $250K contract with medical benefits and an "out clause" to go to the NFL. 50 players per roster, 10 week season, more details here, including the names of several former CFB HCs who will lead teams in the new league.
