Dear Friend,

Welcome to our BPPC eNews.

You would have noticed the title, "Home Sweet Home (Group)" when you received this in your inbox. Well, it was intentional, but why?

Getting to Know You...

Home Groups are a great place to get to know people better, to learn from their experience, and to pray and encourage one another. If you aren't in a home group yet and would like to be, then please speak to Johann Vorster after the service on Sunday and he'll indicate the leader of the group nearest to your home so you can get more details, and make any other necessary arrangements. If you need a lift, that can be arranged too. See you there!

God bless you abundantly,
Pr Andre & Newsroom Team

From the Pulpit

Morning Service - 9:30 am

This morning Pr André Schwartz will share on the theme “Living for a Sovereign God”  from Isaiah 36-39. Isaiah is all about… God! You guessed it. A God who judges and saves, dispenses justice and lavishes grace, rules creation and His people, and wants them to live with joy in Him. At least, that's what Isaiah 1 to 35 taught us so well. In chapters 36 to 39, the focus shifts from God the sovereign King to Hezekiah the human king who gets it so right once and so wrong twice. He is indeed a model to us all on how to live, or NOT to live for a sovereign God. How do you live?

Evening Service - 6:00 pm

On Sunday night our Ministry Assistant, Johann Vorster, will continue the series in Philippians on the theme “Count All As Loss” from Philippians 3:1-11.  What are the things we count as dear in this world? Paul had many things of which he could boast but considers it all as garbage compared to knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, Christ is our every need met, our every sorrow comforted, our every goal achieved. So let's count everything as garbage in order to know Christ, for He satisfies both now and for eternity which we will spend joyfully with Him.

Missionary Prayer News

Last week we prayed for the various relationships that our missionaries Nathan & Tomoko Stewart, Lucinda Windeatt and Lauren Crase need to cultivate and maintain. This week it's their Communication Skills

  • Language Study is a tough road in any language.
  • Constant improvement in fluency and pronunciation. If you don't say it correctly, the people won't get the message.
  • Cultural adaptation and understanding are essential or they will be misfits forever.
  • Helping the Pray-ers understand their situation and needs.

John Rowse Updates

John says,  "Thank you for praying. God has opened doors.  The seminar with a small group of Baptist pastors and others went well.  Please pray they’ll pass it on, and that a wider door will open to the Baptists there and elsewhere."  Read more...

  • Carl Bezuidenhout, a Jimboomba Home Group member, had a pacemaker implanted today (Friday), so please pray for his adaptation to the faster heartbeat (It was 30 b/m).
  • Our people - That we might live a worship/servant lifestyle in unity, thus showing we are really joined to our Lord and He is living out His character (the fruit of the Spirit) through us each day.
  • Prime Minister Scott Morrison, according to a faithful witness, is a keen Christian. He's there by a miracle, so let's pray for miracles of grace through Him to turn our nation's thoughts to the Lord, in spite of the abortion decision.

Missionary Commitment Faith Promise

Don't forget to bring along your Missionary Faith Commitment slip filled in, and put it in the plate or give it to an elder or one of the mission committee members on Sunday. Our priority is to "make disciples of all nations."

Murder Approved!

All true lovers of the Creator of Life are saddened at the decision made by the Government that "abortion is available, on request, up to 22 weeks gestation." As the prophets confessed their nation's sins let's do the same and plead for God's mercy upon our wayward nation, remembering that God is still in control!

Bioethics speaker Scott Klusendorf explains how pro-lifers can use a friendly, logical conversation to promote the value of life and refute common pro-abortion arguments. (Listen to part 1 of 2 here)

More Messy Kidz

Last week was a wipe-out with too much rainy mess for Messy Kidz. So pray for Monday that we will see them all enjoying themselves and their mum's chatting together and with our team moving among them.

Christmas Concert 2018

"Well you talented people, don't hide your talent this Christmas but rather use it to praise the Lord. To date, there are only a few items and our congregational carol singing. So, take a step of faith and sign up for an item with Johann. OK? We look forward to a great time of fellowship.

Mission's Night - Two Weeks to Go!

The theme of our Mission's night is "Taste and See that the Lord is Good." So first up we are going to taste some of that delicious homemade BPPC food that everyone kindly brings for us to enjoy. Then we are going to visit New Guinea to meet some very down-to-earth missionaries in a video that tells their story and shows how God works. It will bless you and stir your heart for the Lord and missions.  Read more...
