Fantastic Launch of this year's Exhibtion

There was a tremendous turnout for the Launch of this year's Exhibition at LASALS in the Old Library Building in Belvoir Street, opposite the old Fenwick's Store.

We were treated to a talk by Jenny Grevatte https://jennygrevatte.co.uk/ who officially opened the exhibition. She spoke enthusiastically about the Brooklyn Sketchbook Project and we offered to publicise it here. There will be more information in the November Newsletter. https://www.sketchbookproject.com/

2018 AGM Notice
Wednesday 7th November
Leicester High School for Girls
Our Annual General Meeting takes place in November. Some members of the Committee will step down at the AGM as required by the Rules, and nominations are hereby invited for Treasurer and President, plus elected members. The LSC is a totally volunteer led organisation and this contribution is vital. Committee membership is only for a limited period, and this is an opportunity to get more closely involved in how the LSC is managed, and to influence things. Support is there to help you get used to a new role. Any member of LSC can propose any other member (including Associate members, following a recent rule change) provided they have a Seconder.
We realise that many of our members have already ‘done their bit’ and served as officers and committee members in the past. But if you are a newer member, in particular, you might like to think about putting yourself forward – not only does it help the Club function, but it’s a great way to get to know people better.

We also request your nominations for honorary members.

Any nominations should be sent to Ali Cork (ali@tadleyewing.co.uk) before the AGM but can be proposed on the night. Thank you.

Dear Sketch Club Member

We would love some more entries for the in-club monthly competition. The competition is a bit of fun and a chance to share your work with other Club members. If you would like to participate please send digital photographs of your work (£1.00 per entry, 3 maximum) to, Siyuan.ren@gmail.com From all the entries the Committee will select three images. Those members will be notified each month by e-mail/phone and asked to bring original work for display at the next monthly meeting. when members vote for the winner, who will receive a small prize. Work doesn’t need to be framed. Normally we request payment at the previous Monthly Meeting, but this month please let me know, when you e-mail your image, whether you will pay the entry fee by BACS or by cheque. Cheques should be posted to: A Cork, 47 Belvoir Dr. Leicester LE2 8PB
