'Tis the Season

Open Enrollment is one of the most important times of the year! Here are a few changes to the benefits offered for 2019:
  • Dental maximum benefit was increased from $1,000 to $1,500 per covered individual.
  • Vision allowances for frames or contacts have been increased from $110 to $150 with a small increase in your bi-weekly premium.
  • Supplemental Life Insurance coverage offers a one-time opportunity to increase up to $200,000 without Evidence of Insurability.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) now offers 8 free face-to-face counseling sessions, per issue, per year, up from the 3 that were offered in previous years.
  • New Membership Cards will be mailed in January for each person covered on  the plan in very plain envelopes. DO NOT THROW AWAY.
Be on the look out for more information in the Employee of the Day emails!

Quarterly Service Award Winners

Congratulations to the six Quarterly Service Award winners from Q3: Zach Weismiller, Chris Jeffers, Melba Oxley, Carol Jolly, Jessica Tower and Melodie Donovan!

We are excited to have the opportunity to recognize IEDC colleagues for their significant achievements and particularly positive attitudes each quarter based on peer nominations. Thank you to our winners for their next level leadership and performance!

Thank you, Brittany!

Next week we'll say farewell to Brittany Mann as she takes on her next challenge in the private sector. Her last day at the IEDC will be next Friday, November 2, so be sure to stop by and wish her well!

Brittany has been an excellent representative for the IEDC, and we are very fortunate to have had such a wonderfully qualified personality on our team! Brittany has a rare quality for meeting new people and her genuine excitement about Indiana has helped market the team over the years. Good luck Brittany, you will be missed!

Next Level SECC Events

On Oct. 26, the SECC Committee partnered with the Happiness Committee to bring you executive Jeopardy and a chili cook-off!

Jeopardy contestants included Matt Kimmick, Rollie Helmling, Abby Gras and Matt Wade. Each contestant inspired one of the categories for the game. $130.33 was raised in the voting round and an anonymous donor agreed to match the donation for a total of $260.66! Abby Gras won the game and the proceeds will be donated to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.

After a great turn out at the chili cook-off, a total of $285.75 was donated to support the Salvation Army and Charlotte Lemieux's submission was voted #1 chili out of eight total competitors!

Special thanks to Paul Baltzell and Mike Luciani for coordinating the SECC Committee!

From the Desk of the Commissioner

Your faithful Commissioner is at a loss for words for the fist time in his life. Elaine Bedel pulled off another stunning victory, beating David Watkins by 25 points, without even starting a quarterback. When asked about her most recent wins and whether she would finally change her lineup, Ms. Bedel said, "well, if it isn't broken, don't fix it."

In other news, Danielle Chrysler finally put up a W on the scoreboard (thanks to Alli) and Chris Cotterill took out the commissioner like it was being coached by Brock and Wes. Kudos to Diana Hunter for holding onto a winning record despite her claim that she's never played fantasy football before.
