The government sponsored Bill Prohibiting the Consumption of Prostitution has its first reading next week!
Dear Project 119 Activist,
Next week, the government bill prohibiting the consumption of prostitution will be brought before the Knesset for its first reading! If this reading is approved, it will be a crucial step forward in successfully bringing this law into Israel’s legal code.
In August, in a special summer recess session, the Ministerial Committee on Legislation approved the government bill to prohibit the purchase of sex. With this government coalition support, it is expected to be approved Next week. Just as we untiringly urged, in addition to the advancement of the legislation prohibiting the consumption of prostitution, a government program is also being advanced which includes education, information and rehabilitation for survivors of prostitution.
We hope the bill will be approved with a convincingly, large majority and ask you send a letter to all Knesset members today. Call upon them to show up and vote approval for this bill. Remind them it is literally now in their hands to end the brutal exploitation of prostitution and trafficking long tolerated, even encouraged, in the State of Israel.
Call upon the MKs to commit to vote approval to help secure a better future for Israel and many of her most at-risk women and girls.
We will appreciate your update on any response you receive.
