SCHOOL DIRECTORY CONTACT INFORMATION
We need your help in compiling, verifying, and updating our school directory information.

Providing contact information in the directory is extremely helpful when planning and coordinating things like birthday parties and get-togethers for the kids. Be sure your student does not miss out on these activities! Plus, all parents that join the PTA receive a handy paper copy.

Please update or opt out by October 26, 2018. Only information received by this date will be printed in the directory. We will not be reusing the information from last year.

Go to atozconnect.com or the AtoZ Connect app and follow the steps to verify and add information or to opt out.  Alternatively, use THIS FORM and return it to school.  Click HERE for the Spanish version. The form will also be coming home in this week's Tuesday folder!
HALLOWEEN FUN NIGHT IS OCTOBER 26

INTERNATIONAL DAY IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2
Each year Freedom Hill families come together to celebrate the diversity of our school. We are lucky to have students who represent many different countries. We will kick the day off with a parade. During lunch, students and staff can sample food from around the world. Students can represent their countries during the parade. Parents can help by donating a dish or helping with the parade or food set up, serving, and clean up. To participate, please complete and return this form or sign up using the link below. If you plan to donate food, please cut out the food label on the back of the flyer and use it to label what you donate. Donations without a food label cannot be served.

ANNOUNCING OUR FALL BOX TOPS COLLECTION CONTEST!

The Box Tops Collection Sheets for our “Positivity Starts Here”  Box Tops contest were sent home last week. Everyone who returns a completed sheet (with 25 Box Tops) will receive a prize! A special prize is planned for the individual class that turns in the most Box Tops. Will it be YOUR class?

Please check around your house for products with Box Tops, clip out the Box Tops, and bring them to school. Click HERE to see a list of participating Box Tops products.

Please double-check that the Box Tops have not expired and that the expiration dates are not cut off. Put your Box Tops on a collection sheet (Tape is better than glue. No staples, please.) You may also turn in loose Box Tops in a zippy bag or envelope, marked with the number of Box Tops.

Be sure to include student's first AND last name, grade, and teacher’s name so we can credit the student and class for any prizes – 25 Box Tops gets a prize, and all Box Tops, no matter how many, count toward the class total for the special class prize.

Contest Deadline: Monday October 29, 2018. Box Tops received in the collection box after the contest deadline will be counted in the next collection contest.

Additional collection sheets for this contest are available on the rack in the Main Office, or by clicking HERE.

Click HERE to read more about how you can help Freedom Hill through Box Tops. Remember to keep clipping and saving your Box Tops! It’s free money for Freedom Hill Elementary School. Help us take it! Buy ‘em, clip ‘em, send ‘em in… and we earn money!

If you have any questions about Box Tops, please email Neda Sarafrazi.

IN NEED OF PAPER TOWELS
The cafeteria is in need of more paper towels.   Please give them to Katherine in the front office or, better yet, order through Amazon and have them sent directly to the school.   Some parents have even set up a recurring order with amazon so that every month some paper towels arrive at the school.   These are used to clean the tables in the cafeteria after each lunch period.

PTA MEMBERSHIP & CORPORATE MATCHING
You would be surprised how much our PTA funds additional learning opportunities and programs for your children not provided by FCPS. PTA donations fund interactive technology (like Dreambox), STEM needs, landscaping, teacher wish lists, classroom libraries, before and after school enrichment programs, staff development, and community building events like Halloween Fun Night, International Day, Spelling/Geography Bees, Bingo Night, 5K Fun Run and much more. The PTA also paves the way for new programs and connects parents, teachers, staff, and children together.

We suggest that, along with the $20 membership dues, families consider donating a minimum of $50 per child to help fund the PTA budget. More importantly, whatever the amount – we are striving for universal participation so donate whatever is best for your budget. We need your help in building the best school community together! We also have some excellent thank you gifts to check out this year.

You can join by credit card at https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com, by check made out to FHES PTA or cash. Leave the completed form and payment in the FHES PTA mailbox. Click here for the membership form.

If you work in the private sector, you may want to ask your employer if they match employee donations to non-profit organizations. Many employers do a dollar for dollar match. Please let us know if we can help you with this process!!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES
Please consider volunteering. Volunteering is a great way to get to know fellow parents and help out the school! For a list of positions and descriptions, go to: http://www.freedomhillpta.org/Content/91_16/Files//FreedomHillPTA_OpenPositionDescriptions.pdf

We are looking for two people to be Halloween Fun Night Committee Chairs for NEXT YEAR, and shadow this year's committee to learn the ropes!  Halloween Fun Night is loved by the FHES community, but we need volunteers to make it happen!

If interested, please contact Kristy Curtusan at kristycurtusan1@gmail.com
