Ryan Tully is now senior adviser to Andrea Thompson, undersecretary of state for arms control and international security. Thompson was confirmed as undersecretary earlier this year after a stint as deputy assistant to President Trump and national security adviser to Vice President Pence. Tully spent the last seven years as a professional staff member to the Senate Intelligence Committee. The retired Navy Reserve intelligence officer also served as an aide to ex-Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), taking on the role of Republican staff director to a Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee ad hoc subcommittee as well.
