Conservation Club has launched.
Salamander Patrol is our newest project.

Our Conservation Club students, after two woodland adventures and some group building and leadership practice, have decided on a partnership project to help a local ecologist monitor Cape Ann for Blue Spotted Salamanders. Over the next two weeks, our students will be taking on leadership roles, deciding how to spend their budget, and beginning their field research. Look for updates and an invitation to the presentation of their work in December.
Hatchling Blandings Turtles Swim Into Kestrel

Our newest Kestrel members are two tiny hatchling Blandings turtles, a Threatened species in Massachusetts. In cooperation with Grassroots Wildlife Conservation, a division of Zoo New England, the Kestrel staff and volunteers are providing intensive feeding and care to these young reptiles. The hope is that they will thrive and grow large enough to be released into the wild. The Rockport Middle School 7th graders will be working with the turtles monthly, collecting growth data on them and researching their background and connections to local ecosystems.
Raising Blandings turtles takes work and equipment; about $2,000 worth. We have set up a Facebook fundraiser to raise this amount. Please consider donating directly on our Facebook fundraiser by clicking here, or donate via our webpage and add a note that the donation is to support the turtles. Also, we are looking for name suggestions and if you make a donation of any amount at all, we will add your suggested names to our list of names for the 7th graders to vote on. Just email us your name ideas!
We'd love your help with the Fall Edition of A Few of Our Favorite Things – an online auction featuring our favorite restaurants, shops, artists, museums, entertainment, and more.  The auction will take place in early December.

How to help:

Donate   Do you have a new, collectible or vintage item to donate? Do you run a business or provide personal services, or have access to unique events?   Are you crafty?  Our auction audience loves hand-crafted items.  We are looking for all types of donations to keep our auction well-rounded!

Join the Team   Would you like to support our work, and are you looking for a short-term volunteer project?  There are a variety of volunteer roles on the auction team, from asking for donations, taking photos of items, writing descriptions, proofreading, and event promotion.
