Phil's "Little Known Facts" About Our
Spring 2019 Adventures

Believe it or not, it's time to start making plans for your Spring 2019 motorcycle adventure. You might be thinking, "2019?! But we're not even into the holidays yet!" What can we say? When we look at our lineup of tours for the first half of 2019, we see a lot that are already sold out and many more that are close to it!

And so this week we decided to pull together some little known facts about each of our guided adventures in early 2019, because in the end, the ride is really just the beginning of the experience!

Baja Backroads Adventure

2019: January 19-27
7 Riding Days • 1,200 Total Miles

Little known fact:
We stay at Mike's Sky Ranch during this one. Mike's Sky Ranch is an iconic Baja hideaway for off-roaders on two and four wheels alike. You have to push your bike past the front desk to the pool, so that all the bikes are parked around the pool. There are usually riders from all over the place at Mike's Sky Ranch, mostly off-roaders. A steak dinner comes with the package, and the bar is plastered with stickers and other memorabilia from the Baja 1000 and other races and gatherings.

Patagonia End of the Earth Adventure

2019: January 27 - February 12 (SOLD OUT)
2020: January 26 - February 11 (Spots Open)

15 Riding Days • 2,500 Total Miles

Little known fact:
There is a working Estancia in the southern reaches of Chile that sits on the south side of Torres del Paine National Park. We stay here for two nights. To the east, the valley stretches to Argentina. To the west, the rolling grasslands collide with the Pacific Ocean. To the south, there is a high rock cliff where several pairs of condors live, perch, and soar. You can climb to the top of this cliff and take in all of it.

New Zealand Motorcycle Adventure

2019: February 6-19 (SOLD OUT)
2020: February 5-18 (Spots Open)

12 Riding Days • 1,400 Total Miles

Little known fact:
We could not just go to New Zealand and enjoy the mind-blowing beauty at every turn. No. We wanted to offer something unique and unforgettable, which is why we built this trip to coincide with the Burt Munro Challenge in Ivercargill, on the south coast of the southern island. Here is where you will be awash with Kiwi riders, endless activities, races and entertainment, and for lack of a better word, FUN.

Best of Baja Adventure

Southbound: February 2-11 & March 9-18
Northbound: March 21-30

8 Riding Days • 1,430 Total Miles

Little known fact:
Our time in San Ignacio brings with it indescribable feelings of connection and wonder when you look into a whale's eyes, and realize they are bugging you for some attention. The day we spend whale watching -- and petting! -- is beyond words. At first, I thought it would be just another tourist attraction, but staring deep into that gentle eye is nothing short of phenomenal. This experience is included in our Best of Baja Adventures.

American Southwest Adventure

2019: March 10-19 (few spots remain)
2019: October 25 - November 3

8 Riding Days • 1,800 Total Miles

Little known fact:
The Mexican Hat is a geological wonder. One of many on this trip, but possibly my favorite. We go right up to this 60-foot long and 12-foot wide saucer of a rock that appears to sit teetering above the valley floor. It's just one of the many amazing things we see during this journey back in time.

Wonders of the West Adventure

2019: March 30 - April 6 & November 9-16
6 Riding Days • 1,430 Total Miles

Little known fact:
Did you know with MotoQuest you can visit the lowest point in North America and ride the highest motorable passes in the world? We love finding these geographic extremes, and if you didn't already guess it, we visit the lowest point in North America during our Wonders of the West Adventure. Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park sits at 282 feet below sea level, and just down the road is Furnace Creek, which holds the record for highest recorded air temperature at 134° F. Luckily we'll be rolling through here in early April, when temperatures are usually in the 80s or 90s.

Japan Three Island Adventure

2019: March 30 - April 10 (Few spots remain)
2020: April 13-24

8 Riding Days • 1,220 Total Miles

Little known fact:
Each year our group stops at Takasumi Shrine high up in the heavily forested mountains of Kyushu Island. The founders of this Shinto shrine planted cedar trees that now tower high above the shrine and its visitors. One of them is over 900 years old! One year a group of us linked hands around the tree to try to grasp its enormity -- a profound moment to say the least! This is by far our most popular Japan adventure and our 2019 trip is already almost full, so don't delay if you want to join us!

Peru Machu Picchu Adventure

2019: April 8-21
12 Riding Days • 1,880 Total Miles

Little known fact:
The day that we spend in Nazca makes you wonder about humanity and question what it is we're up to sometimes....Here we gaze upon the mysterious Nazca lines that were left on the desert floor by ancient peoples. As a bonus activity, you can take a flightsee to get a bird's eye view of the geometric and animal-shaped figures below. This enigma makes you wonder "Why? How? When?" If you were ever curious about the mysteries of human endeavors, this should be at the top of your list! This also happens to be our most popular trip for adventurous couples, and we currently have four couples that will be riding with us in April.

Isle of Man and Wales Adventure

2019: May 24 - June 5 (SOLD OUT)
2020: May 29 - June 10

11 Riding Days • 1,355 Total Miles

Little known fact:
We ride the actual Isle of Man course during the day and along the way we pick out where we want to post up later to watch the race. There is a 90 degree corner in the town of Ramsey. You will gasp as you watch the first rider take it at such a ferocious speed that they are literally leaving rubber on the pavement as they do it. These racers ride with such reckless abandon that you have to wonder what force from within is driving them?! Our 2019 trip is already sold out, but we still have spots for 2020 if witnessing this historic motorcycle event is on your bucket list.
