Information Sessions for the Ronad E. McNair Program
The application for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is now open. Want to learn more about the McNair Program? We are hosting multiple information sessions. The first one will be on: 
  • Thursday, October 18, 2018
    • Location: David T. Kearns Center
    • Time: 1 PM to 4 PM (We will hold multiple information sessions in 30 minute increments)

Financial Aid Office Closed Monday
The Financial Aid Office in Wallis Hall will be closed Monday, October 15. It reopens at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 16.

Grand Challenges Scholars Information Session
There will be an informational session from 1 to 2 p.m. on October 19 at the iZone Forum at Rush Rhees Library, led by Emma Derisi, coordinator for undergraduate global initiatives. Grand Challenges Scholars work on the most complex problems of the present and future in the realms of sustainability, health, security, and the joy of living. They develop an interdisciplinary, hands-on project that maximizes the flexibility of the Rochester Curriculum and choose other complementary activities to develop a theme to their undergraduate experience.  The program is open to all majors. Interested in getting your PhD? The Kearns Center is now accepting applications for the Ronald E. McNair Program!
Simon Business School Open House
Learn about the graduate programs offered by the Simon Business School at an open house starting at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16. There will be a chance to speak to current students/alumni and sit in on a class. Register here. If you can’t attend or have any other questions about the programs, contact joseph.sayre@simon.rochester.edu for more information.
UM-SMART Undergraduate Summer Program
UM-SMART is designed for undergraduate students who are potentially interested in obtaining a combined MD/ Ph.D. degree leading to a career in academic medicine focused on basic research relevant to human disease. This program may help you decide if this is the right career for you, and could enhance your competitiveness when applying to MD/PhD programs. The Greene Center Presents: Winter Break Industry Road Trips
Applications are now available for our two winter break industry road trips to technology firms in Silicon Valley and San Francisco and Law, Policy and Social Good organizations in Washington DC. Applications Being Accepted for Marriage and Family Therapy Program

The Department of Psychiatry’s Family Therapy Training Program is accepting applications for the master of science in marriage and family therapy (MFT) for fall 2019. The program prepares graduates for careers as licensed MFTs in traditional mental health settings. Direct questions to Phylliss Paeth or call 275-0577.

Part Time Job Opportunity: Curbside Market Operator at Foodlink

Paid Student Opportunity: Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship
Are you a junior considering a career in public service or international affairs, working with the government, nonprofits, humanitarian and international organizations? Cornell Diversity Preview Weekend 2019 is still seeking applicants

The third annual Graduate Student Diversity Preview Weekend will be held from March 7-10, 2019. Participant housing and meals will be provided, as well as up to $600 in travel expenses. Applications are sought from students that are interested in applying for graduate school during the 2019-2020 application cycle. If you have any questions, please email inclusivecornell@gmail.com.
Closet Donations at the Greene Center
The Greene Center is excited to launch their Career Clothing Closet! They have begun collecting gently used clothing for our students in need of interview attire. If you have any suits or business attire that you no longer wear, please consider donating. Donations are being accepted at 4-200 Dewey Hall. Please see the attachment for more details or contact Christina Pero at christina.pero@rochester.edu.
Student Highlights
DandyHacks registration is open until this week!
DandyHacks will provide a space for students interested in technology to work on their desired projects as well as meet other students who share similar interests! The 36 hour event stretches from October 26th to 28th this fall. Be sure that you register at dandyhacks.net. Please do not hesitate to email greetings@dandyhacks.net with any questions you may have.
"Me Too Monologues": Call for Student Submissions
The College Feminists are now accepting submissions for the Me Too Monologues which will be taking the place of the show done in the past. The goal is to take the genuine experience of students on campus and create a show which speaks to our community without excluding anyone. Anything goes! Share about your struggles, or joys, and celebrate your identity by writing a monologue! You can submit at tinyurl.com/mtmsubmissions and direct any questions to mbentle3@u.rochester.edu.
