❤️ Beloved Max â¤ï¸
Max was rescued by AMA Rescue in 2012. He was surrendered to Glendale Humane by a homeless person. Max was blind with painful, advanced glaucoma so his eyes were removed. He was thought to be 13 in 2012. Max was adopted by one of our long term rescuer/fosters of special needs and seniors. Max passed away  on September 30th  in the loving  arms of his forever Mom. He was happy and comfortable and knew how much he was loved  until the very end.

 ðŸ¾ Welcome Miss Emily  ðŸ¾

·

Welcome our newest AMAR foster, Miss Emily. When they say it takes a village...yes, it takes a village of amazing AMAR foster families.   One of our fosters, Deanna, volunteers at a shelter and saw Miss Emily (then Chachi) on her visit. Miss Em came into the shelter from a terrible fire and several pets were brought in. Emily wasn't in the fire but had been evacuated from the building. She was so horribly matted that the shelter asked the owner either to surrender her or they would charge her with animal cruelty. So she signed her over.

A shelter was not the place for her. They had to shave her whole body; she wouldn't let them trim her face. She did so badly in the kennels that she was allowed to hang out in the office. Deanna saw her there and held her after she warmed up to her. She contacted our Northeast Coordinator and she in turn contacted, Victoria, another of our foster moms who immediately said she would take her and wanted her out of there pronto. So the very next day, the shelter worked with us and allowed Deanna to pull Emily and she drove midway to Victoria's and handed her over. Victoria is a miracle worker. As soon as Miss Emily got to the house her tail wagged endlessly and she pranced out in a harness and leash this morning. She still doesn't want her face touched,, You can only imagine the pain of shaving off those mats close to her skin. She will learn she is now safe and loved. She'll be going to the vet in a couple of days. Please keep her in your thoughts. She is in MA but not available for adoption yet. We'll keep you posted.

🐾  Boo Has Found His Forever Family ðŸ¾

Sharing another happy AMAR "tale/tail." Our adorable foster boy in MA, Boo Bear, couldn't "bear" not having a forever family, so he found one! Well, actually his foster mom did. They were on our "must adopt to this family" list. They met and it was love at first sight all the way around. Thank you to Victoria for doing a great job fostering and finding him a loving, fun family.

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!
We are in dire need of Foster Homes throughout the United States. Daily we receive requests to take in dogs from shelters or owners needing to surrender them. The only way we can accept these dogs is if we have a place to put them. We hate turning them down but sometimes we have no choice and they may end up in a shelter or abandoned on the street.

If you would like to help us by Fostering please read our Foster Questions and Answers then fill out the Foster Applicaton at the top of that page.
