Atmosphere turns 10 in November
At the end of November, Atmosphere proudly celebrates 10 years as one of the best boutique resorts in Asia. Since the opening in 2008, we have grown to offer outstanding dive services, an award-winning Spa, excellent fine dining, yoga and fitness as well as family activities and exciting excursions. Throughout the months of September-December, we have been offering alluring Anniversary specials to our guests, and we are very excited to celebrate our anniversary over a fun-filled weekend.
Themed in the color white, the big anniversary party will see a host of local and international guests enjoying drinks and snacks around the resort and dancing to The Bloomfields until the early morning hours.

Resort news
New entrance and gardens at Atmosphere
“What wonderful thing happened to our entrance?” you may ask on your next visit. A couple of months ago, we moved our previous entrance to the top of the resort and opened up a whole new garden area between the Residences and the Family Suites, which also gives easy access to the Warrior Gym. We think it looks stunning!

New 360 Tour shows off the beauty of Atmosphere
With all the changes in the resort, we have had to update our brilliant Virtual Tour to reflect the new room types, renovated bathrooms and the new garden areas – as well as the Warrior Gym. We are loving the sparkly new 360 tour – have a look at it, it’s almost like being on holiday! You don’t want to miss the aerial virtual tour, it’s something else!

Awards
More awards coming our way – or so we hope!
In September and October, Atmosphere was nominated for three more awards in three different areas of operations. DIVE Magazine in the UK nominated us as one of the best dive operators worldwide, Asia Spa Awards has nominated us for a Spa award and Haute Grandeur Awards has nominated us for Best Website along with Best Eco Resort and Best restaurant. All results will come through in November and we are beyond excited!

Octopus October in full swing
When the months of October and November loom nearer, our dive team and our diving guests get very excited as it is the start of #octopusoctober, a wonderful time of the year when octopus of all sizes and shapes become a lot more numerous on our reefs and sandy slopes. This year is starting well, with lots of Mototi octopus, Mimic octopus, Wonderpus, Algae octopus and to top it off, Blue Ringed octopus on the house reef.

Excursions
Enjoy a bustling local market
Wednesdays at Malatapay Market are always abuzz with activity. This is a local meeting place for traders, merchandisers, shoppers and visitors. On display is food, vegetables and fruit, tools and house hold items, but most interesting must be the livestock market: Cows, goats and pigs in abundance meet their fate here in the early morning. Come early to see the hustle and bustle, relax at the Malatapay pier with some sweet banana fritters and local coffee. Or why not sample some Lechon Baboy (roast pork) and a cold San Miguel beer? If you’re not here on a Wednesday, there are other local markets to visit.

Travel
Join us in Palau onboard the Siren
Every year, Atmosphere charters one of the Siren Fleet liveaboard ships for an exotic dive destination and we absolutely love for you to come with us. In March 2019, we head off to Palau on the Palau Siren, a destination we have successfully visited twice before. If you choose to come with us, you are more than welcome to stay at Atmosphere for a few days before or after the cruise, and as a special deal, Atmosphere will give you 5 nights for the price of 3. PADI Instructor Development
Fifth IDC of the year – two more to go!
Congratulations! Our July PADI Instructor Course in October was a popular one and the 5th one of 2018. With 6 English-speaking and 9 Chinese-speaking candidates, our big team of in-house Course Directors and Staff instructors were kept busy and we are proud to see so many of our new instructors actively teaching all over the world. Instructor Development Philippine’s next two IDC’s are scheduled for November 1 and November 23 – a new record for IDP with two IDC’s within a month!

Study of Visitors to Negros Oriental
Atmosphere Resorts is participating in a study of visitors to Negros Oriental conducted by the Provincial Tourism Unit. Negros Oriental is developing a new Strategic Tourism Plan to guide future tourism actions that directly address visitors’ needs.
In turn, better and preferred tourism products will be provided, supporting services enhanced, and transportation infrastructure improved. If you have visited Negros and have five minutes to fil in the survey, you have the opportunity to enter into a draw by the Province for 10,000 Pesos cash and two Cebu Pacific airline tickets.
