YOUR VOTE COUNTS - Election day is Tuesday, November 6. As you cast your ballot, we would like to share with you an "Election Discernment Prayer." Every vote matters. Exercise your right and civic duty with faith and responsibility!

O God of Creation, as citizens of this nation help us to remember that our individual votes have consequences for all our citizens and for all who inhabit this planet.

Help us to remember that we are casting our vote not only for ourselves, but for the billions of other beings in this world whose lives will be directly affected by our leaders.

Let us cast our votes with prayerful discernment, humility, compassion, and in witness to the dignity of all and Your love for all creation. Let us do what we are able in the name of Jesus, who cast His lot with the weak and oppressed.

Amen.
In November, we will be focusing on the second Beatitude - "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." We released the second episode of John's podcast which focuses on this Beatitude last week. Use the player below to listen to this brand new episode.
Also, tonight we are beginning a brand new book club to help us grow in our understanding and encourage discussion around our theme! Brian Cannon, Director of Evangelization and Family Life, will lead the “St. Pat Chapter Chat” on Stu G’s book Words From the Hill on the first Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. It begins tonight, Thursday, November 1. However, please note that this first session will have a time change to 5:00 - 6:00 pm due to the Holy Day Mass Schedule. The following sessions will return to 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Click here to download the flyer.

COME AND SEE - Prayers for the Heart & Soul. You may have considered becoming more intentional about your prayer life but didn't quite know how to go about it. Have a sense that Jesus is calling you to a deeper relationship with him but not sure where to start? Come and See will be a chance for you to try different prayer practices including centering prayer, contemplative prayer, praying with scripture, and praying the sacred labyrinth. We will also have an opportunity to discern possibilities for on-going spiritual companioning. Join us Saturday, November 3 at 9:00 am -12:00 noon in the Church. For questions or to RSVP, please contact John Konicek at jkonicek@stpatcc.org or 480-998-3843 x102.
WOMEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST - Saturday, November 17 from 9:00 - 11:00 am. ALL women of the parish are invited to join us for a morning of prayer and fellowship. We'll begin at 9:00 am in the Daily Mass Chapel with Centering Prayer, followed by a delicious breakfast, a powerful guest speaker and plenty of time for conversation and community building. Hope to see you there... and don't forget to invite a sister, mother, daughter or friend! Our guest speaker is Diane Owens. Diane is a spiritual director and writer whose reflections were recently featured on JesuitPrayer.org. She formerly co-led Embrace, a women's spirituality program at St. Patrick, and she is currently a daily Mass Lector and Minister of Care. Since being introduced to Ignatian Spirituality, she strives to find God in all things. As a spiritual director, she helps others notice God's presence in their daily lives and their life stories. She invites women to slow down before the busy holiday season begins and savor God's presence in their lives. For additional information, questions, or to sign up to help, please contact Megan Popa at 480-998-3843 ext. 138 or email her at mpopa@stpatcc.org. ADOPT-A-FAMILY Help Needed - Where did the year go? What happened to Thanksgiving? How did we get to Christmas already? The year has gone by so fast and has landed us right where we like to be... in the season of giving! The Adopt-a-Family program is once again heading into full swing with donor family registrations beginning on November 10 and 11 before and after all Masses. Again, we look to the parish community members for their help in the form of time and manpower to make this ministry a success for many families and children. Please check the sign-ups link here and see if maybe one Mass time might work into your schedule to help out. There will be a quick training on November 4 at 9:30 am in the church classrooms. If you have any questions before that don't hesitate to contact Barb Nicol at bnicol@stpatcc.org. Thank you for your willingness to share.
GIVING, PRAYING & SERVING - Annual Report. Arriving soon in mailboxes near you will be the 2017-18 Stewardship Annual Report outlining the parish stewardship efforts and financials for this past fiscal year. Included with this year’s report there will be a pre-printed commitment card for Stewardship Commitment Sunday. We ask that you please look over the card and begin to prayerfully consider your commitment to Stewardship GPS for the 2018-19 year. Also, please look over the contact information on the card and update where needed. You can return the card at Mass during our Stewardship Commitment Weekend on November 17 and 18. Thank you! This mailing is on its way to all registered parishioners. To register in the parish, please reach out to Mary Sanicola at msanicola@stpatcc.org or 480-998-3843.

From the Diocese of Phoenix
Bishop Olmsted has heard from many in the Diocese about how the current scandals surrounding the Church have affected you, and now he would like to hear from all of you. The Diocese of Phoenix has built a new website and invites everyone to take a few minutes to share your thoughts. Bishop Olmsted will review your responses and share the information with his brother Bishops. Click here to visit the website, use the player above to watch a message from Bishop Olmsted, and read a letter from the Bishop below (you will also find this letter on the fidelity.dphx.org website).
