President's message: October just flew by and while the activity slowed somewhat, it's never dull in our Southwest Florida Chapter of USA Dance! I spent a great deal of time assembling the nomination package for "Chapter of the Year 2018" Can you imagine your chapter sponsored over 250 beginner/intermediate dance lessons/workshops this past year? With our monthly Social Dances at the locations at the Riverside Community Center and the Women's Club in Punta Gorda adding 24 lesson sessions, plus the TWO Black-tie Balls and Showcase of Dance for 2018, it's been a busy year!

Of special interest - in comparison, those attending the chapter lessons vs those attending the chapter social dances seldom included the same folks.

The Ballroom Team Dance Training Program has had a GREAT 1st month at the Women's Club Ballroom 118 Sullivan Street in Punta Gorda!

October started this team's adventure into the classic WALTZ, with Nathalie and Franck. So, if you love the joy of dance THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS from 8 to 9 PM! Interestingly, we've had more gents than ladies show this first month, so, ladies join us for some special dance moves you probably haven't met yet!

This is new program Follows our Beginner/Intermediate class with BOB on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 PM

EACH CLASS IS $6.00 for USAD members & $10.00 for Others!

Remember it's two (2) Sessions, One Night

Session One is Basic/Intermediate MAMBO with BOB.
Start Time 7:00 PM finishes by 8:00 PM

Session Two, for those who need the challenge, X-Flash-mobbers and those who want variations, don't miss these routines with Franck & Nathalie!

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING?
Well on Monday nights at Riverside Community Center
While we had a wonderful time with Cindy Johnson and the CHA-CHA, November & December will feature the T-A-N-G-O with David Flory
The Basics are from 6:30 to 7:15 PM
The Intermediates are from 7:30 to 8:15
The cost is $10.00 for the evening.
We always start with the Basics to share with ALL levels of dancers with the second hour more challenging.! If you are NEW, the address is 3061 East Riverside Drive, Fort Myers, FL

You've already Seen The Wednesday's At Charlotte Harbor Schedule, don't miss a step!

From 3 to 4 PM on November 1st we finish our Ballroom Line Dance Program at Riverside and feature some special dances we generally don't teach at our usual classes starting November 11. THURSDAY AFTERNOONS WILL BE HOT!

Thursday's continue with
Don & JoAnn (and some special trainers, to help you out) will be at the Estero Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd as we move on to explore the
CHA-CHA

There are vacancies on the board such as Vice President, Social Dance Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. These duties are shared by members of the board until volunteers step forward.
At the General Membership Meeting on November 25th nominations for these positions or Director at Large positions from the floor will be accepted to be confirmed by a membership vote.
